Hi,

I am building my Trex 450 SE, when putting the wooden blade to blade grip, I feel it is very tight and when putting the bolt through the grip and blade, the bolt seem a bit short so that when screw in the nilon nut the bolt does not come out of the nut (on my Hirobo models, this bolt always come out about a few mm).Is it normal?

I have Align 2200mAH-18C, what should be the charge current and time? I have charged it with 1500 mA, the battery is full within 30 min. Is this normal?

Thanks for your time,

Hi saigon-heli

On my 450XL the bolt is tight through the blade gip holes and I have to turn the bolt as it goes, I expect that it would not be hard to just push it through but as its plastic it might open up the holes slightly if pushed everytime.

On the 450XL the underside of the bladegrips have a recess that the nylon nut seats into, have you got the nut seated correctly?

The aluminum grips do not have the molded recessed hex shape hole for the nylon nut like the XL does. I replaced the stock bolts with slightly longer ones, just for the piece of mind. I used to drill out the blade hole when I used the wooden blades. If the blades are too thick, which the Pro Wood blades typically are, I used to remove the plastic root guard, file the excess glue and some of the paint off until I obtained the fit I liked, then I satuated the exposed wood with thin CA (to add some strength while I was in the neighborhood), wiped off the excess, let it dry, reinstalled the plastic root guard, and installed the blades.

KamikaziRcPilot & Antlers,

Actually, for my case, the bolt hole is fine but the thickness of the blade make it hard to slide the blade in the grip and the the bolt is a bit short (the bolts that is pack with carbon blade, I do not see any other bolt so I took this bolts). So, I think I have to skim down the blade a bit to get it right fit.

Thanks for reply.

I run the bolts from my original XL. it came with longer bolts, and I've been using those ones since. They switched now with the SE and SA bolts being too short by a mm or two..
