Hello
Does anybody have information regarding the Rotomotion UAV Helicopter Controller?
Does it perform well?
Support, installation, availability etc.?
Thanks a lot for all information!

I've looked at them all, I would highy recommend staying away from the rotomotion system and the remote-i system, both have a track record of ripping off customers and after talking with several of their customers, all were not happy.
Depending on what you want the system to be able to do, I would recommend going with the Neural Robotics system or the Carvac system, both are tried and tested systems and very good companies to use and deal with.

Which is worse, ignorance or apathy? I don't know and I don't care!

I don't have a problem with rotomotion's brand of heli {bergan}.

To CJames

Are you crazy man? You are lying!
I travelled from Brazil to U.S.A. to meet them last August!
And I was not disapointed! I had mine SR20 and it's working great!!
Since now we are working together in a new project for the Brazilian market, and I have full support.
Dennis is a great guy and his team work great.
I'll upload my pictures to show.
Please, dont go through the wrong way..
They are working hard every day to deliver the best of them.

I'm still waiting for that Bergen you wanted to donate. Since they are such garbage, according to you.

I spoke to rotomotion about 2 years ago, looking at the system that "starts at $5,500." Basically I was given an out the door quote in the neighborhood of $15k. Three times the starting price, stuff like $600 in shipping fees, and $500 for an aluminum enclosure to put the autopilot in on the heli, many other things I was not able to get a useable system for $5,500 as advertized. They also feel that their system is suitable for law enforcement, etc. When it came time for a demo they offered to rent a large field to use it in. Does Bell, Robinson, or Enstrom rent a field when trying to demo their fullscale heli's to customers?? Is the rotomotion system safe to use over rural or suburban areas, well renting a field for a demo made me think twice.

Dennis did reply to emails promptly, and was polite, as helpful as he could be. But I think Carvec and Neural Robotics are my two picks.

I think you would observe that 2 years ago, CARVEC, NEURAL and ROTOMOTION were in a well different maturity from today.
You would know that CARVEC, NEURAL and ROTOMOTION only had its great advances this year.
Just take a look at them websites.

I don't know... how many of you guys can hold a heli perfectly still in a 400' hover..... the human eye is not that good... when the heli is close to you, you can see change in pitch or roll, and you can correct it before you konietic is created... in high alt. hover you can not see minor pitch changes, and have to rely on motion of the heli to desern pitch and roll changes... by then, it is too late, you are going to be fighting from then on to keep it in the place from then on. The autopilots keep the heli pitch & roll neutral, and the GPS keeps it in the same position. For some applications the Autopilot opens up door to application that were on the frindge of operations otherwise.
