Hi all,

I have a new Synergy, and I come from a Stinger 90, and a Raptor 50 titan, and on these I have 30% expo, and 80% dual rate to limit me a bit. (without, I am all over the place, thumb flier here)

To my point, I hovered the Synergy 2 times today, setting up gyro, etc...

And I had no Dual Rate or Expo, it was very easy to hold. Is this just me getting better or do I not have me cyclic swash throws far enough (Swash 70% in Hitec transmitter)

But I do say this, it felt nice, It wasnt twitchy, and I have not flown it, just the two hovers.

The voices in my head can beat up the voices in your head.

I suggest you measure the amount of ail and ele with a pitch gauge. Swash percentages are not very helpful to knowing how much cyclic throws are set in your heli. I have my N9 set for +-8 on ele and ail and require a 25 percent expo. The Synergy can be made to fly fast or slow and hard 3d or mild with these settings. The designed stability of the N9 is nice in a hover but when you push it the heli responds due to the tremendous cyclic power.

With pitch gauge on and blade over nose of the heli set throttle stick for zero pitch then without touching throttle and with flybar level give and measure full right and left cyclic. Move flybar over nose and repeat to measure elevator.

Perfect, thats the info I needed to know.

So for now, I have the following set.

normal: -3,0,+10
idle-1: -6,0,+10
idle-2: -10,0,+10

so, now I will adjust swash settings for cyclic,
+/- 8 degrees

Portblock,

Check for binding at full cyclic throws and full +-pitch. The point to look for is the washout arms hitting the block on the swashplate were the anti rotation bearing screw mounts. I don't fly the heli moving the cyclic into the corners at full pitch but if you do then you could have a problem. Many people cut off the end of the washout arms to prevent them from hitting.

The other mod people do is turn the three bellcrank to swashplate rods out 2 or 3 turns so the swash doesn't hit the long elevator rod at full negative and back elevator. You'll need to shorten the long rods from the swash to the mixer arms by the same amount.

I know I'm repeating here but until someone decides to build an FAQ section monitored by the owner/moderator RR has no way to present information in these forums without searching.

I can tell you that the raptor doesn't hover all that solid and im sure the stinger isn't much better. If you set up a raptor to hover good you will lose some cyclic athority.DOUG

i think what your seeing is the benefit of a 5mm flybar and paddles. rock solid in the hover....wait till you push it!

cheers

Yes and the .82 flybar ratio doesn’t hurt either.

cyclic
I have My Synergy set up with -10=10 pitch but I can't get more than 6 degrees of cyclic, all my links and servos are set up as specifications, I have a JR 9303 radio, How do I add pitch to the cyclic on ECCPM ?

Hi Pryo

If you mean how do you get more cyclic from your radio then you need to go in to the swash menue and increase the values for both cyclics, think JR defaults to 60%
