Cool link. Neil Peart is quite a class act. Talented drummer. Not to take away from Neil but for you drummer's out there, look up some of these guys if you like impressive percussionists. They are all great in their own right. Especially Buddy Rich.. It's a shame he's gone..

Lenny White
Steve Gadd
Dave Weckl
Ansley Dunbar
Steve Smith
Buddy Rich (saw him in Little Rock) very impressive Be sure to watch this link, The vid is old but truly impressive.
Gerry Brown
Billy Cobham

Just to name a few...

Another great and an up and coming artist is Tony Royster, Jr. My daughter and I met him a couple years ago at her rock drumming school, and he is another alien player. When he gets started, his hands go to a blur, yet you can still hear every single strike of percussion. Marshall, I'm like you. I play bass, but there's something about good drumming that always gets my attention.

Bass and Drums are the backbone of any band.. When those click, everything falls into place. So, you are a bass player.. Ever heard of Glenn Hughes? Stanley Clarke, John Pattitucci, Jeff Berlin?

Greg,
You couldn't be more on the mark with Royster...he's amazing....
I'm a little bumbed though...DW and Neil have recreated his 2112 kit with a single bass and 9002 double pedal, they only made 30 kits for the 30year anni of Rush. The kit is selling through quitar center and sells for 30K. Now how do I ask my wife for the go-ahead on that after she just dropped 40K buying me a car???? Bad timing???

Happy Thanksgiving to all!!
Regards,
Ant

Anthony, unless you sell that hotroddodge, you're going to have to sell a bunch of video work to get that 2112 kit. For $30k, you'd think they'd set you up with a double bass, or at least a rotating stage! If you do get it, I'm booking a flight to NJ, so make some room for my sleeping bag and amp!

Marshall, Berlin is an alien. I really enjoy Vail Johnson, of course Geddy Lee, Victor Wooten, Marcus Miller, and Eric Sands.

For drums also look up Terry Lynne Carrington. and Omar Hakim.
For bass, don't forget Jaco Pastorious. He was a wildman that is surely missed.

Are you on the list?
