General consensus for 3S packs seems to be the Medusa and the Hacker. I have both and prefer the Medusa since it is easier on the packs than the Hacker. The Hacker also works better with high discharge batteries like the new Thunderpower Extreme packs.

I fly the 450TH on 3S and it has plenty of POP.

More power than I can use.

More than enuf power for moderate 3D.

I think the closest you'll get to a 4S setup is a Medusa 3400 with 12 T pinion and TP Extreme batteries.

which motor
If you go for the Madusa 28-40-3400 you will find the TPPacks are really great I use the 2070 s and they really do go but they wont run through a Aligh ESC and the QUark 35 wouldnt handle the big draw either.
If you go to the Madusa site you'll see the spec for the motor and the constant draw exceeds the normal ESC rating.

I have swapped to the Kontronic 45 6 18 ESC real smooth run up, simole to set up and for a few pennies more you get super quality.

It makes the thing ballistic...and lotsa fun

Gary

Oh I'm using 13 tooth pinion

i just looked at my speed controler it only does 35 continuous and my lipo can only do31 continuous so that medusa is too much amperage draw for my speedo/batt, and i catn run the aon cos of the frames i have so what is the next best, or will the medusa be fine with what i have just wont perform as well, will it cause cutout if it tried to draw over 35 amps?

I've been running the Quark 33A with Sky and Tech BEC with my Medusa with no problems. Should be fine for you.

I'd use a BEC. I use one on both my T-Rexes. Quark with S&T BECs. Hacker motor and Medusa.

What do you guys think of the JGF 450TH compared to the 28-32-3400 Medusa ? Which would give 3D but longer flights ?
