And I think practise and center mass hits are more important than carrying a 45 just cause its a 45.
Exactly....and a very good point, especialy when it come to Concealed carry and the responsibility that comes with it.
Alot of guys carry a gun simply for the knock-Down power of its caliber.
Its being able to hit what your aiming at thats important.

Personally, I practice more with my larger caliber fireArms as much as possible. I find it brings my grouping with my 9mm and 40cal alot tighter.

For me, overall proficiency with all my calibers is the goal.

The ability to practice with the cheaper 9mm pistol is a big factor. If I was shopping again I would consider a nine.

I do love the 1911's though. Never has there been a more beautiful handgun (except maybe the colt single action. Can you imagine pulling one of those out of your trousers and "fanning" the hammer at your assailant?)

My ccw instructor told us this: "Carry the biggest gun you can comfortably. That huge desert eagle .50 is useless if its in the dresser drawer at home and not on you when you need it!

Oh, I also forgot one in my previous post: S&W Chief's special .38 snubby.

While on duty, I wear my Sig P226 .40 cal in plain site. While off duty, I either carry my Sig P226 .40 cal in my Blackhawk CQC holster or my CZ 75B .40 cal. in a pancake style holster. I have put approximately 2500-3000 rnds through each weapon with no failures at all. I try to get to the range as often as work and the real world affords me to.

For ERT (SWAT) and general home protection I have my Bushmaster Carbon 15 M-4. This is outfitted with red dot sight, handguards with full accessory rails for my forward pistol grip, tactical light, and laser.

Myself, I'm down to two pistols at this time. But I love them both.

Stainless Colt, Double Eagle 10mm w/adjustable night sights

Stainless H&K Compact .45 w/adjustable night sights, BIG hit in a small package

Given the current political climate, I can neither confirm nor deny my ownership of any firearm. However, speaking strictly hypothetically, I would have a KelTec P3AT for summer casual, a Walther P99 for winter formal and a Colt M4gery for long distance communications.

KEL TEC P-32. Very light and tiny. Fits in pocket with no printing (showing thru cloths) for concealed carry. Do I carry ?, lets just say I have the permit and it depends when and where.

Yes, it's a light 32 cal, but will 6 punch holes in the bad guy very fast, just pray to g-d it never comes to that.

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

for me, since im 16, i carry around a "dirty harry" gas powered airsoft revolver when i head to the city, have had to pull it once but hey, scared the crap out of the guy
Could be a very bad idea, one reason being is that you may very well run into someone carrying a real gun and they will shoot you. You'll leave a nice little welt on them, they'll leave a nice big hole in you. Use caution....... that's worse than bringing a knife to a gun fight!

Fascinated reading through this as I have always been interested in handguns and was a reasonable shot at one time. Of course in the UK ownership let alone carry of handguns was totally outlawed in the late 90's resulting in countless thousands of handguns owned by responsible people being destroyed, a close friend lost close on £30k worth of guns collected over 25 years, to all intents I believe they were melted down.

Of course this action has not stopped the crime fraternity from aquiring and using handguns and gun crime is on the increase in the UK.

My question is about some of the statements made about 'Home Protection' last November in the early hours of the morning 3 men dressed head to foot in black including ski masks smashed their way through my porch and front doors after the keys to my new car, acting on pure instinct and a will to protect my wife, two teenage daughters and young son I managed to hold them back somehow, I think they where surprised more than anything by my screaming punching kicking etc or it could have been that I was naked at the time however I was very lucky and got away with it, but if I had a gun I would willingly have shot them and about now I would be serving a long prison sentence in this country for doing so, would the same thing happen in the US? or is that covered in your constitution? how many people would actually have used their weapon in such a case?

Sorry for the long post!

Here in Tn you could have blown em out the door....

When you can use force

1. emanate danger to your own life
2. emanate danger of your own severe bodily harm
3. emanate danger of life of another person
4. emanate danger of severe bodily harm of another person

In the house ,in the yard,or anywhwere else ,gas station ,etc.

You may shoot in the above instances ,but it doesnt mean you wont be taken to court or tried or sued ,it just what they teach at the handgun carry classes here .

As the instructor said, "It is a carry license not a hunting license."

You forgot escape.

In your house you do not have to worry about escape.

an easy way to distinguish airsoft gas guns from real ones are the barrel. Usually at the very tip by the muzzle, theres an engraving that says airsoft gun. Ive seen how similair the real steel and airsoft are but ive also studied the diffrences

This is a great thread, we can all use it as a reference of who not to screw around with. Maybe link it to the good guys list, so any scammers can search and decide who they want to rip off.
