LOL! Post Hole Digger License!!

Here I am.....right in the middle of Central Texas digging 6 post holes in the hardest dang rock around.....by hand. This is freakin rediculous! It took me the better part of two weeks to get six 15"X24" holes dug for my garage. Blisters on my hands, calouses on my fingers......yes I did wear gloves, but it still mangled my hands up.

I know it's limestone, and it could be worse.....alot worse, but I finally got them all done yesterday evening and I am one proud PHD.

Lesson learned......call the local electric company and pay them to dig them for me.

In case you were wondering, I am putting telephone poles in the ground for the frame of my shop. I think 24" should be suffecient right?

Here are some pics!

Did you make a call to 1-800-DigTess yet? If your digging and hit something and you didnt make that call in Texas, your 100% responsible for damages...

CALL BEFORE YOU DIG!

It says do whatever the f*** you want! lol! I live in the sticks far from the city limits, so that isin't an issue.

Digtess? Who needs that? Yeah yeah, I should have called, but you can tell if there has been anything dug in that particular area from how the top of the ground looks. Besides, the ground would be soft.....or at least not as hard as solid rock if anything was there.

Yep, I tried. I work at an equipment rental shop and I used two different machines. One being a Bobcat (also known as a skidsteer) with an auger and then what they call a Toro Dingo with an auger attachment. Both had rock bits and neither could dig solid rock. I thought about a pneumatic jackhammer, but that would have been just as much or more work than a hand held rockbar. Oh well, it's DONE!
