Hobbytown USA in Indianapolis
They cater to helicopter pilots, particularly Miniature Aircraft and Raptors. I have not been there in about 4 years. Their contact info can be found in the INternet. Call in advance to see what they have.

Hobbytown on the north east side of town is the only heli oriented shop. While they do have quite a bit of heli stuff, the shop is more of a "store" than a hobby shop. I always get the feeling they just want people to get what they need and move on. Their stock of MA stuff has been reduced to a box of parts at 40% off. Raptor parts are mostly older 30 V1 parts along with a few for the 60. They do have a fantastic array of micro heli parts and supplies. Lots of parts and kits for Blades, Trex and MX helis along with a few bits for the Swift.
I intend to do some flying tomorrow and Friday afternoon. PM if you are still in town.

Thanks for all of the replies. I take it there are no locally owned shops worth checking out? Have the chains taken over (Hobbytown USA)?

Call hobbytownusa
One of the two shops was a very well stocked and serviced by heli pilots a few years ago. Don't know about them now, but if they are what they were at that time it is worth the visit.

I just arrived in Bloomington, IN for the Thanksgiving weekend. Anyone flying Thursday morning, Friday, or Saturday morning? I brought a couple of helis with me and the hopes of finding someone to fly with while the family shops with Grandmother.

I currently work at both HobbyTowns and will be there all weekend. I will be in Greenwood Friday and Saturday and Castleton (north side) on sunday. We do have mostly Raptor parts, V1 and V2, on hand as that is what a fair bit of pilots in the area are flying. The 40% box of MA stuff is slowly trickleing down and there is not much there unless you are looking for Expert or 60SE parts.

Most guys in the area start with the E-flite stuff. By the time they decide to bigger they already know what they want and what they are getting into so they look at other heli's on-line and the like. It is a "store" and unfortunatley we can not cater to everyone like we wish we could. I don't own the shop, nor do I receive any of its profits but it is a buisness after all is said and done.

Stop by if you get the chance. Ther are a few other small shops in the area but they are predominantly planks. We do have plenty of fuel though.

Matt,
Thanks for the offer. Unfortunately I think that I am going to be dragged kicking and screaming to the mall.

There is a hobby shop on franklin rd south of washington on the east side, great place for plankers but don't mention heli's !! you get that icy stare and you could hear a pin drop ,the silence is deafening!!
They do however have a bin full of odd 's and end's mostly servos at reasonable prices.
THX1138 > wish hobbytown would stock more century stuff, i need some parts and no longer have a bank account in order to buy online.

Smile! people will wonder what you're up to!!

Phone number for South Store
I would like an address and phone number for the south store so I can use my gps to find it.

Also, do you happen to have a sullivan 24volt dynatron and sullivan helicopter starting wand with one way bearing in stock? I might drive up if you do. Of course the price would have to be competitive with Tower's, or even a little better to justify the 3 hour round trip drive.

Yeah... I am sure you would rather be fighting the bargain hounds at the mall instead of flying! I know I do...
/at least that is what I tell my wife
