Hi There

i have just got my self a 450xl hde and iv been having some fun in the garden with her, but i have been reading so many dab things about the 25a esc and that what i have with the 430l motor, (i will be getting another esc but not just yet)
now i have been told it might be better for me to stick the 11 tooth pinion on so not to load the motor and bust the esc,
now should i or should i carry on with the 13 tooth pinion????

cheers guys

steve

No, if you mount the 13t pinion it's possible to pull up to 33 amps... I've done so on my T-rex 450SE w/430l motor and 35g esc using +/-12 degrees pitch.

I would stick with the 11t for know, at least until you get a bigger esc...

Cheers,

Richard

Raptor Rulezzz, please share with me, how you achieve 24 degrees.

Standard SE, 21-22 degrees is all i can get.

NIGHTSTALKER, 13 Tooth pinion will crucify that Align25A ESC.

Colin.

CC35 represents excellent value for money. (UK Based Recommendation)

Phoenix link is excellent, and the support is second to none.

I can program it and update the Firmware on my link, for you if you like.

Inwoods or Overlander.

One Note:, some criticize the on board BEC, which is rated @ 3 Amps when used with HS65'S and 9650/401..

But mine are fine.

I have a T-rex 450SE and I thought I could get +/-12 degrees pitch, it does bind a little.. but I just don't put it there.
Maybe my or your pitch gauge is a bit off..

Cheers,

Richard

Your guys running more than 11 degrees +/- must be real smooth on the collective. If not, even the strongest motor can be easily bogged. I wouldn't recommend 11+ pitch for anyone not experienced!

nightstalker,

i've got an se with the 430L (3500kv), 11t pinion, and 25A algin esc. this setup works fine for sportflying. i actually have a 9t pinion i'm going to try to squeeze alittle more flight time out of a battery. you don't need crazy high headspeed or the extra power unless you are doing extreme 3d. you really shouldn't need the 13t.

i've never setup an xl, but you need to make sure your endpoints are all 100% and that you have zero pitch at center stick with a 0-25-50-75 pitch curve. also, all your head linkages need to be leveled out. have you watched the fineless videos? i'm new to cp helis, but the fineless ccpm videos gave me all the necessary info to setup my se correct the first time. everything you need to know.
