I have a couple of questions.

For basic aerobatics loops, rolls, inverted, etc but non 3D flying would 690 blades be as good as the 710 blades and which gear ratio would be best for which blades, the stock gear or the white gear. Also would the GY401 Gyro work as well as the GY601 Gyro. And can anyone suggest a good headspeed.

Thanks

Rich

For your mission the 690's will be just fine.

Gearing is more engine/exhaust dependent than blade dependent.
OS91Cspec and SZ prefer white gear (8.27) Headspeed for SZ 1900 to 1930. If you are just doing mild aerobatics and dont need, require, or want all the HP, lower headspeeds in the 1850-1900 range are just fine.

YS80 and YS91 prefer the stock grey gear (8.45) Headspeed of 1800 would work just super.

A properly setup GY401 is a great gyro. It is not at capable as a 601, however.

The 401 can handle the mild aerobatic mission you are proposing just fine. Just be sure to set it up correctly and you'll enjoy it.
