Woot happy days at last..
UPS Girl dropped off my N9 Finally (See pic)

Gonna get ready to build it over the next few days and wondering if theres anything to watch out for or do carefully while building.

Not gonna have it up and flying for a bit though. spent all the money on the kit, still need radio, servos, engine and muffler

just do the usual-

dial the fan and clutch. 2 thou at worst imo.
do the headblock/seesaw bearing mod
pin the TT as a precaution
put heatshrink over the tail gear roll pins
cut off the outer hole on the mixing arms

get chrome balls assuming you don't have them in your kit, you should have if it's the new kit batch. you'll need to size them if they are the new ones. well worth it.

the thread already given above has some more details on most of these.

i'm just building my 2nd synergy now and working my way through the mods, there is pictures of some on the realraptors knowledge base. my TT pin mod is there with pictures.

cheers

i maybe should have put it's for the block but it offers more support for the seesaw but here it is anyway

before

after

it's a std TT part pv0048 and you'll need suitable cap head bolts to suit it. i got them from realraptors as they have the bolts to suit, they do need trimmed down though length wise.

cheers

all you need is a big vice (i assume you have this) and a dial indicator, i can't say how much it will cost you as i live in uk but i would guess 30-40 bucks.

check out your online retailers for tools, i can't suggest any as i said, from uk.

cheers

Dial indicator (Fan) and a good set of Align ball link pliers! The cheapy ball link piers bend at the tips while snapping on the links.

Dial indicators vary, I got mine on ebay with magnetic base. Works good on the shop vise.

You can build it without the engine, but I usually wait until I have everything before I start building any heli. That way when I am done I am actually DONE! It just makes it easier to have what is needed when you are at the step when you need it most. Works for me everytime. Congrats on your new toy. You will LOVE it!

Brian

Build it, fly it, crash it. Repeat as often as needed.

Only on page 3 and already ran into problems....

Pulled out sprag bearing, one of the teeth was missing, found it rolling around in the box. and the spring that holds it in was all bent out of shape. couldnt get it in and if i could it wouldnt spin. after about an hour of trying to fix the bent wire(spring) i finally got it to fit in and work....

Didnt want to have to spend more money on another bearing

Clips are easy when you know how to do them, do not try to put them on with pliers or treat them as you would a C Clip, I don't have the link to hand but do a search and there is lots of info on how to fit these.
Think there is info by Matt Botos on the Synergy site even.

Cheers
