yes, it's fun. just make sure you don't have too much neg pitch when you are spolling down or else it tries to submerge!

I did it with my Hummingbird and it was kind of fun. If I can find the video, I'll post it later.

Looks cool

If you stop the blades totally, does it wobble all over trying to spool back up? My friend has a lake in his back yard and wants floats in a big way but I heard the heli would tip over during spool up true or false?

The thing you have to overcome is the torqe of the engine spooling up when there is NO friction on the skids in the water (unlike the holding power the ground gives you). So untill you get TR authority the heli will go around in circles. I have only landed and kept my headspeed up and taken off. I have never come to a complete stop on the water, or started from the water. The floats work great for snow also...

ive flown on water before. pretty fun, i landed but kept the hs up, and took off again. that was right before my heli went swimming due to rf interferance. only a bent spindle though i got lucky.

if you take off from water the heli makes abour 2 circles before the tail can hold. My question is: if your heli is in heading hold mode, will the tail want to 'unwind' back to its original position?

Whoa! Ever hook a fish? I'm guessing the fish are long gone when that heli gets near the water.

on the floats it will wobble from time to time on spool up but it goes away fast, but it does that on water or land on them. it has such a wide stance I don't think you could tip it over unless you were trying to, MUCH more stable than on skids. here are some more spooling up taking off on water
