After my latest crash I blew out my CF upper frame sides and battery tray on my SE. Have glued them back together, but today I picked up some SA alum upper sets for $13. Anyone see any reason not to mate these up to my CF lowers?

even not doing anything would have been better than nothing...

No, you have other standard metal parts mated up to the SE CF frames.

What is the weigth difference between the metal and CF frames?
The complete aluminum frame weigh 20 grams more than the CF frames, according to Align.
