You guys think a Jazz 40 will be OK to run in a Lepton? I am running the 10 turn Hyperion and Evo 20 4S 3700 pack. Having trouble getting a PHX60 and figured this would be my next best bet.

I don't think 40 will do, recommend bigger one, at least 55 or even 80.

you want something in the 55-80 range. 40 ain't gonna cut it.

I also agree that 40 is not enough, look at the Jeti Spin 55 or 66, a bit cheaper then the Jazz, but more expensive then the Castle Creations. With the Jeti you can also purchase their programming box which also doubles as a flight data viewer. Had a CC80 and smoked it(my fault)and now waiting on my New Jeti Spin 55 and box.

Thanks guys! I ran a Hacker 48O on my Logo 10 Extreme with no problems and it is quite a bit bigger than my Lepton. I thought a 40A would be fine when a 48A worked on the Logo.

Anyone tested the amp draw on a 4S Lepton setup? There's no way that it is 60A!

it goes well over 40 many times, I am not a "hard 3D" flyer at all, this is just sport, but of course it's up to you to decide, the shop recommends, Hirobo recommends, most people in here recommend bigger than 40. In the picture you see it's going more than 15 times over 40, and I guess at those times it's really important to have ... you don't want a break during a loop or so ?

Thanks Xircom! Was that with a 4S setup?

I don't fly hard 3D at all. Just flips and loops.

I found a PHX80, so I am going to send back the Jazz 40 I have on the way. I have had very good luck with the other Pheonix ESCs in the past and still have a PHX-link which I love being able to make changes with my laptop.

I think your 40 will work fine. The thing about Jazzs is that they are WAY de-rated, like I have heard of many people running WAY over the amp limit and when the controllers come down they are still cool. I would give it a try especially for your type of flying, rather than spending $$$ on a new controller.
