Was wondering if anyone knew the thread size of the Jakadofsky clutch threads? There is a bolt sticking out where the clutch is on the turbine and is held by one nut along with a locking washer. I measured this bolt and its a rather odd size, I measured a 1.0mm pitch with my pitch gauge but the diameter of the bolt is 9.4mm. Super weird! I assume the shank diameter is 9mm.. Anybody have a clue? I've never seen a 9.5mm tap before and can't find one anywhere. 9mm in itself is a pretty weird size.

Wish I could help ya, don't understand what you are trying to ask. The bolt coming out of the center of the clutch shoes is one of those setups such that:

A conical unit that slides over the turbine output shaft and is threaded at the end is what I believe you are talking about. The clutch shoe has a cone in the center hole on the turbine side, that, as the lockwasher and nut are tightened, it pulls the shoe down on the conical part tightening it on the output shaft and holding on the clutch shoe. That is a special part and you will need to contact Starwood to get another.

Do not let that shaft slip inside the turbine!!!!!

I guess what I'm trying to say is I need the shafts measurements for the thread size. I want to make a "nut" if you will to thread on a coupler at that location so I can hook that particular shaft to a brushless motor for power generation. So far I've taken that nut off and measured the shaft at 9.5mm x 1.00mm which is a really really odd size. Just need others to confirm that.

That's just a .375-24 UNF Tap. These are available just about everywhere.

thanks guys it sure is, I made something out of aluminum and it indeed fits. How odd though, never would have guessed they use american threads.
