OK I'm a real newb. Have Trex SE with Align 35 ESC, and have read about changing the settings on it (governor or whatever). How is this done? Is there a switch somewhere that i'm missing?r I just that green? Hoping this might help with the tail surging.
Thanks

I guess you don't have the manual?! It tells you exactly how to do it! It is done through inputs on the throttle channel of your transmitter.

No manual for the esc. Manual for DX6 was pretty vague. Will need to take a closser look when I get back home.
I have the heli all set up and I'm really close. I can spool it up,lift it up,but the tail will surge like it's getting a power spike.
I have been able to steady it somewhat but it's hard to concentrate on keeping the bird stable while it demands my attention at the tail.

I know I'm close to getting it working but not sure of all the little stuff.

too bad the devil's in the details. it's that last 2% that makes or breaks you.

there is a really nice set of videos over at HF....one goes through the exact setup procedure. since it's done in realtime, you can follow right along. should get you up in no time. but, if you really are "that green" i'd have someone check out your complete setup before taking the bird for a spin, or it could be a short, unfulfilling flight.

if it ain't broke, break it.

I'm using an e-flite G90 HH gyro and Futaba S9650 on the tail. Also read that I could be having problems if the gyro is mounted upside down. Mine is under the boom, but I'll have to check,If it's upside down too.

yup

some might give you problems if mounted on their sides. but, upside down will not matter---otherwise it would not work inverted, right?

if it ain't broke, break it.

Inverted! Right now I'd be happy if it flew upright without a problem But i'm not sure if it would cause a problem mounted upside down. I read(today)that if mounted upside down, you need to reverse the switch on gyro.?
Sorry. Right now I just feel like a retarded newb.

my reverse switch is flipped and it is right-side up. the switch will have to be set to the other position when flipped. but, where it is to begin with depends on your setup and needs to be addressed when you program your radio.

if it ain't broke, break it.

Mine is mounted under tail boom, servo foam, homemade mounting plate.
I'm about to leave work for the night and go home and re-check all.
Something has got to be off by just a hair somewhere.
Thanks.
