I got up yesterday hoping to get a Wii, but I didn't have any luck. Did anyone on here get one? I thought Best Buy was opening at their normal time (11), but they opened early (9) for the launch. I checked a couple other places and they were already sold out. Looks like Nintendo made a great machine. If you have one, how do you like it?

My friend and I got one yesterday. Got to target at about 6:15. Around 7:45 target employee came out and handed out numbered tickets. They had 60 units. We were #44 and #45 so we got one.

It's AWESOME.
I only got Zelda with it - but I'm arleady hooked. The Wii sports is pretty sweet too - my girlfriend and I were bowling for a few hours last night - bowling rocks. Though she keeps kicking my butt. She bowled a 164 and the best I got was a 161.

Can't wait to get it online.

In all I paid $395 out the door for the system, Zelda, an extra remote, extra nunchuck, and a pack of 4 energizer lithium AA's

nunchuck is what they call the puck thingy that plugs into the remote.

It has accellerometers in it. Pretty sweet.

I will definitly get one when they are available. I've been hooked on my 360 lately, so I want to make sure I have time to play the Wii.

Well, I got up this morning at got one. Our Eb Games got 5 in, and I was #5. Talk about lucky. If I didn't get today, I was going to try to get one Sunday. Best Buy is suppose to have a minimum of 20 on Sunday.

From what I read, it sounds like Nintendo took a different market path than Sony and Microsoft. Instead of high powered, intense graphics, complex super games, Nintendo decided to go back to the simpler old school games. The system has 1/4 of the processing power of it's super powered competitors, but it doesn't need it. Games can be fun without perfect graphics, and simpler games are fun too.

It looks like this system targeted a younger middle class group.

Why try to make a better system for the exact same audience? Smart company.

I've been playing the new Zelda, and I can say that the system is awesome. I didn't know what to think about the motion sensing controls before buying it, but now that I have it, it is a lot of fun. The nunchuch is pretty cool because you can play in a comfortable position. So far, I am really impressed. The graphics aren't as good as a 360, and I didn't expect them to be. They work and the game play is great. To me, game play is what matters.
