Yesterday when I was flying my R90 equipped with an YS91/Hatori 937 the engine suddenly quit abruptly. I autoed the heli with no damage.
Upon direct inspection of the engine temperature, I didn't find anything abnormal. No lean run there.

Disassembled the engine at home, and guess what? The con rod was broken at the top, around the piston pin. The whole unerside of the piston was smashed against the backplate, it was raining metal fragments from the inside.

Dissapointing, as I know a few other guys that witnessed the same damage, at the same place, happening to their engines.

I had one spare YS91 (rebuilt with new bearings, and piston/ring/sleeve) that I already put in my R90 yesterday.

I run my engine at 1850 rpm @ 8.45, Radix 690, 20% Klotz, 20% Nitro.

Don't do this yet!
You can only use this kind of ratio if your main gear is = 91 and pinion = 11. There you can get that rating by dividing 91 by 11 which is equals to 8.27 and then put this to your GV1 governor then set 1800 for the headspeed.
But, if you don't have this kind of setup, then don't do it!

YS 91 is supposed to be run at 8.45 for 3D flying. 8.27 is optimal for OS91 (3D).
