The maiden flight went as smooth as silk. Only had to to trim a few clicks and lowered the thottle curve. Tachs now at 1530RPM with 725mm blades.

Handed over the radio to another pilot to confirm setup before giving it to the owner. He suggested a little expo. Handed off to the owner and he was happy.

The flybar weights came in the mail today when I got home, so back to the field I went since he was still there. Installed the weights and he was very happy.

What he did scared me. He yell to me and said "Look hands off". It hovered all by itself.

Glad he's happy. He hovered that better than all of his other helis and started to fly around alittle.

Sad to see that heli leave my shop.

Only problem was that there was white power on the gears and frame. Pic to follow. Seem that the main gear was wearing in.

chinnook,

The Vario is a very nice build. The T/R will take a little time in shiming the gears. It's actually not that bad, just know the sizes of the shims when you are installing them. I need a micrometer to help me out on the two thinner shims.

Just make sure you have a pitch guage wide enough to fit over the wide chord..

After lifting and moving the Vario all week, last night I picked up my EVO to do some P/M and almost toss it because it was so light.
