No, it's different and the Fan isnt bulky like the double-sided Zenoah fan. Instead, it has an open center hub with the fan blades acting as the ribs.

What combo did you get? Are you planning on building it immediately? Please give us a review. Things that I am mostly interested in are...

Engine Spark RF issues
Fan
Fan Hub
Clutch
Fuel Tank set-up.

Congrats. Seems like a real nice heli.

Hi Asong
It will take me a while before its RTF, just an issue of $$$.
I will take pics of the fan, clutch, and tank for you.
Im in the process of doing the pics right now.
Crappy camera but you will get the idea.
PM me your email and I'll send you off all the pics Im taking.
The first lot are of how the assemblies and packets of things come out of the box, no assembly.
Later today or tomorrow I will do pics of the completed heli, at least complete with what I ordered from Realheli.
I will be starting a new post on Monday so I can upload all my pics and what I think of it all.
So far, VERY very nice........and BIG!
It could give birth to my Trex and 3dPro at the same time! lol
The package i got was the base package, which is......
Complete airframe, K&S paddles, no tail or main blades, unpainted glass canopy.
The only thing I ordered extra was the Realheli muffler and mounting bracket.
This was only $130US for both items, and I must say, Im pleasantly suprised at the quality of the muffler.
If you order the kit then BUY one!!! and the mounting bracket, seperate items.
Im a very happy Aussie right now....broke, but happy lol

I don't think it's an urban legend. Especially for those using highly sensitive receivers.

Shielding the spark wire seems to be solving the problem for many, but there are people still struggling with this. I've taken a great care to build my heli and placing the wires so that this would not happen.

On a gasser, I believe the strongest point of RF noise is around the spark plug, and coil. People use resistor caps and shielded brading to eliminate much of this as possible. I've even taken a further step by placing ferrite rings on just about every wire that plugs into the receiver, and also made sure that all of the wires leading into the receiver are kept on one side of the heli, and on the other side, the only wire is the antenna wire from the receiver. And with spark plug sitting right below your battery tray, it would be a challenge.

Having said that, I do see a clear advantage of having the engine plug face forward. With this setup, the fuel tank is sitting close to straight line below the main shaft. This is something I didn't think about before speaking with rcadd1ct. With my predator, the weight is centered with a full tank of gas (which sit up front). But as the tank gets low, the tail part will become heavier.

All in all, this seems like a very nice design. I really like the way these guys put a lot of attention to detail to eliminate many pesky issues with the gasser. One upgrade / update I would request and recommend would be to provide a way of placing a small plate just below the tail boom on the chasis so that you can potentially place your receiver onto via a Strong Box.

This is a great design. I really want one...

Video?

OK I'll try to get someone to shoot it for me. Maybe sometime this December. Right now we have a stormy weekend so no flying

asong26,

well I guess I'm just lucky that I have no issues with RF from the plug. btw, what do you recommend for throttle servo on a gasser? I want a futaba or JR servo. But of course, not an overkill servo. I'm little on the budget

Gorn,

I have a nissan xtrail and the maxum fits perfectly

I am by no means a servo expert. On the tail servo, I have the Futaba s9256 that came with my GY611. Everywhere else, I use JR 8311.

JR 8311 is probably one of the best from a torque stand point. And also reportedly to have one of the strongest / durable motors. But they are not the fastest servo. Many people are replacing the JR 8311 gears with that of JR 8417. I have done that as well.

JR 8417s are super fast. And the JR 8311s have very solid motor. By using the 8417 gears, you will lose some torque, since you'll get a faster servo (8311 torque is an overkill for our needs...), but I believe this is a good trade off, as 8311's motors are plenty strong.

This is what Curtis Youngblood is doing:

http://www.curtisyoungblood.com/faq...=Radios::Servos

I am not sure if this is correct or not, but from what I am told, you can bypass this whole trouble by buying a Curtis Youngblood edition JR servos. I believe this servo has a different model number, but they are 8311s w/ 8417 gears on them. I have definitely notice an improvement of servo speed.

I hope this helps.

asong26,
thanks for the link. He says there that if you are on a budget, 8101 will do on the throttle. I'm just concerned coz our gassers have more vibrations compared to nitro helis. m just using futaba 9252 on my cyclics and no problem so far.

If you have servos w/ metal main gear (the gear that connects the servo horn), be sure to you use plastic servo horns. Then you should be fine.

Guys,

Quick question:

Are all your CNC machined aluminum parts anodized? If not, which ones?
