Yep, it went well. Some slight tuning required for the head and tail.

Very happy with it. I better solder my plugs on my other batteries.

The XT150 plugs work well.

Nice! Im not sure about these ec5. Im gunna get some higher temp solder and give them one more thrash...they just dont have enough bite on the cable.

good luck bro!

Remember my gobbler taking a dirt nap?

No more EC5s for me. XT150s way better and can handle the current.

Sure do! Not pretty at all:/

I never had any probs with the xt90 I was using. They were just so hard to pull apart!

Hi Everyone,
Im Luke, Im from Christchurch, new to the hobby and pretty hooked on it, would like to progress to scale turbine heli's later on down the track =).
I'm looking at getting into my first CP bird, though there are so many I'm not sure what to go for!! So far I've narrowed myself down to the Align Trex 450/500, most likely going for the 500. I've also had the Compass Atom 500 mentioned to me. However I wont be getting it right away, being a student im on a tight budget so a little saving is underway.
I started off on a Syma S033G coaxial and have recently got into a Blade 120SR Fixed Pitch which I've been flying as many times as I can charge the battery a day, getting quite competent with it in all orientations and doing pirouettes. Hardly crash it at all, however my experience is very minimal.
Im trying to find people in the CHCH area who can help me out once I finally get my heli, but in the mean time give me some pointers, advice and hopefully that I can fly along side, particularly anyone close to the West Melton area =).
Any help is appreciated,
Cheers.

Hi Luke, there are quite a few heli pilots and clubs around Christchurch. If you get a 450 sized heli there is a group who fly every Tuesday night from 7pm at the Templeton Community Centre. They are all familiar with 450 sized heli's and will be able to offer assistance.
I fly at McLeans Island aero model club. We have about 12 heli pilots who fly everything from 500 sized up to 800. We don't have any turbine heli's tho. We meet every Sunday from about 9am onwards. You are welcome to come out.

Cheers
Tim

Awesome I don't have any time to practice but turning up to have some fun. Anyone camping ? The heli comp is the 2nd and 3rd right? The 2nd is my 33rd B-day so might be slightly hung over Friday Can't wait.

Or PM me.

Thanks

Hi All

The Heli field for the Nats is on a large paddock.

There is no power at the field, so generators would be a good call.

Cheers
