Was waiting for Kevin to get some in stock.

Interesting point though - my RCLogger pitch Absolute Zero and the Soko we different 00.8 vs 00.2.

Flew my soko'd heli yesterday. It was ridiculous! Piro pogos were just straight up and down, previously I'd have to put in some correction through it but very very little now. Also the overall feel and smoothness of the heli was better.

It wasn't even massively off compared to my setup - maybe 1 deg overall. The Vbar is pretty tolerant too. Very impressed. Mines on it's way

Going to have to soko the Atom as that's quite a handful. Hopefully it'll make it a bit easier to control

Just setup my atom with the Soko. Adjusted the collective by a hair so the Compass swash tool was actually pretty close.

Tauranga - New Zealand

My Posts: All  Forum  Topic

Hi Guys

The Tauranga round is still booked in for the 7/8th December. Its a week after Levin.
We have the field for 2 days but will adjust just how long we need exclusivity of it to suit entries. Was thinking of a mid to late morning start on the Saturday to allow for those who are travelling.

Due to it being so close to the Levin event, I really do need to know who intends on participating so we can get properly organised.

We'll have a BBQ on hand and you can camp at the field - you will need generators for power if required.

There is a shop within 30kms - so easy to pop out for lunch.

Field is almost exactly half way between Tauranga and Rotorua and is located at GPS Coordinates - S 37° 56.764 E 176° 09.111 UTM: 60H E 425479 N 5799829.

So please send me a PM is you are or are not going to be there - I'll also email all those who I have seen on the Heli Series entry form.

Cheers

Kim

Tauranga - New Zealand

My Posts: All  Forum  Topic

Hey guys - another call out for the Tauranga event on the weekend of December 7 & 8

Now this is special place - it is (within a k or so) smack in the middle of nowhere (Google Coordinates - -37° 56.311', 176° 8.531' ) - half way between TGA and ROT

So places to stay are either 1 of 3 - Tauranga, Rotorua, or at the field with me. We have a club hut thing there, BBQ, and a trendy new chemical toilet. But in all seriousness its not a bad spot to pitch a tent, park a motor-home or caravan and chill out with some beersies. Its just at altitude (1500ft) so some warm gear is recommended - there are places to put heli gear if crashing out in the van.

We will probably start mid morning Saturday and work through. We have learnt heaps from the first F3N event so it should be alot quicker to process the options this time. Especially if we can get the sheets in the night before.

Not that you can see from Google Maps (the image is a more than a little old) but TMAC have a reasonable large facility - a 220m N-S and 150m E-W strips. Wind can swing a bit though so our square might have to become a revolving circle. There's a quad video at: http://www.taurangamodelfly.com/194235119 - check out at about 50sec to 1min10 and you get an idea....

So if you are coming - let me know. So far:
0 x Clubman
2 x Sportsman
1 x F3C
3 x 3D

Only 2 weeks left till the 4th round at Levin, hope you guy's that are attending have been out practicing lots. So far there are 9 confirmed, just waiting to hear from some more welly guys. Should be a great weekend and I can't wait. Make sure you bring some sun screen, the Levin sun is pretty intense. There will be a BBQ and drinks on site so make sure you have some coins.
