The skids though - they just burn my eyes everytime I see them.

I'm bringing back my practice weapon of choice - MCPX BL (the new one).

There's nothing quite like flying one. After work and with little sleep I don't fancy practicing on the 7HV very much. At least with the MCPX I can focus on new stuff rather than worrying about a $300+ brain fade.

cheers Ian!

yes the skid look a little strange but they have grown on me, they match the heli as a complete unit. its a crazy machine so it has crazy skids

its sure a great heli to have a thrash any were. chuck it in the car and go. with all its power and the way it feels its the next best thing to a 700 machine. and cheaper to crash, im actually looking forward.....no.....curious to see how well it stands up in a crash, as it is just a solid chunk of carbon with a boom and some blades! i think it will come out on top.

I agree - like anything if you own and fly it enough it grows on u, ive had a few crashes with the warp from prototypes to the final V2 - Ive noticed less parts breaks as more parts were improved to create the final V2 warp - Its capable of any 3D maneuver in the boom, yet very easy heli to fly - Its nice to fly something of this size without the worry of trying to chase the model, rather than just enjoy flying it.

I wasn't impressed with Steves run with his. It looked great to fly but had issue after issue which put me off.

I've heard it flies like a mini 7HV which I can only imagine would be awesome. Doesn't fit my glove box requirement though.

Why fly RC helis? Because Rugby, Soccer and Golf only require 1 ball...

what problems did he have?

on another note, i put a new motor in my blade 130x the other day and it has brought the heli to life!

you can tic toc it properly...not like big open rainbows but tic tocs! tail holds so well and it is just a beast now, only thing is it now breaks when you crash but i can live with that now that it is so much fun to fly.

i used the Xtreme Spin Brushless Out-Run Motor 8000kv i got from helidirect. just need to chop a bit out of the battery tray and it fits right in.

im post vid when i get some

warp 360

I never had any problems with the Heli, a few issues with the servos, and one where an esc cable earthed on the body and it fell out of the sky, its a tough little heli :-)

Had a good go on the MCPX BL today. It's got way more power than the original and even more than my original BL converted one.

Whilst it doesn't have a stupid crazy headspeed it just keeps trucking and I was able to easily power loop it - the original used to die half way round.

The tail is a massive improvement and you can sideways tail slide it without fear of it blowing out, it even does proper tic tocs :E

The piros performance still isn't that great but piro flips are more than doable. Piro circles were a bit more effort but still easier than the old one.

The other bonus is that you can easily beat on it for a good 4mins at which point it still doesn't sag and hit LVC but rather just a bit lower headspeed.

Very impressed so far. Time to have a play with adjusting the tail gain - another bonus

Edit - Checked batts after flying today. One pack I forgot to set the timer dunno how long I was flying but was a while 13% remaining. Longest was 4:30 timed and the lowest of the remaining packs was 32%.

Magnazan thata great, i love my 100 sized 3d machine too. Sounds awesome, more power can make a big difference and once u get the hang of micro's they are great fun too fly
that vid's awesome thomas, looks crazzy i love it, definitely somethin us compass boys needa have a go at with all the 7hv's that are being flown, again thats another thing its great to c all the 7hv's being flown and the number of pilots are growing rapidly in nz, and the level of skill is also rising, each comp it steps up a level

MCPX BL

I love my mcpx bl - I have every upgrade on it. But the "must haves" are the solid tail boom and lynx 47mm tail blades - all but gets rid of the wag. The metal swash with rear AR bracket makes the flips straighter too.

Trex 500 UH60

Hi there - if anyone has an old (or new) Trex500 they have thought about scaling I'm keen to sell my Align UH60 Blackhawk fuselage - comes with the raised tail extn and frame sides, lighting kit etc..... has been painted up to look 'weathered' These retail for about $579.

Has been flown about 5 times and goes well - just got the 3d bug and the Blackhawk whilst looking awesome wont go inverted!

Will accept reasonable offers or trades for spare/old batteries for a Trex 550

Video of the maiden flight here (Better than pics - apart from my nervous maiden flight!):

Pic up in Taupo or my wife works in Tauranga/Whakatane/Tokoroa/Rotorua so could possibly drop off or meet ya somewhere
