Looks like you guys had some good weather, bummer the gravitational pull of the planet was a bit much for some of the helis.

I prefer people don't crash but buy 10-20 helicopters each.

Mind you I do know a couple of people that if they crashed would put a smile on my face

THU NIGHT ENTERTAINMENT:

FYI Guys.

Last Thu night Home from HKG after all night flight. Off to bed early....next thing I remember is my wife charging out of the bedroom..."thats my car". Time is 2:40am.

Go charging out front door, sure enough heres my wifes new VW Golf racing up the road. Back inside, kids all okay, we are okay, WTF, heart rate sorted, whats missing!

Litle prick came in daughters window, grabbed her laptop, next daughters room, grabbed some stuff, into our room took my wallet, car keys and phone. Into lounge, some stereo parts and the old playstation, then out front door and off.

Ring Cops, they arrive in 10 mins. Young cop goes "you can track that car can't you?" Nope... but daughter goes "Dad, you can track your new Iphone."

Grab Ipad. Within 30 seconds have tracked my iphone heading out towards Mangere. Cops talk into their shoulder, 2 cars are off and Eagle Heli. Silly little sh%$ts go out onto an island in Manukau Harbour, with only one way in/out. Cops block off road, we make a cup of tea and watch it all on my IPAD!!

Pricks drive back towards cops..... 5 arrests, 2 stolen cars and heap of goodies from apparently 4-5 burglaries.

From car leaving here to arrests 40-45 mins. I think the cops were more excited about it than we were.

Everything back except wifes purse with minor stuff inside.

It is an Apple APP called "Find my iPhone" and it is FREGGAN outstanding.

BY luck I had only put it on my phone acouple of days before!!!

Merry xmas everyone!!!

Callum - more to the point are the helis OK? - watch for delayed trauma, they are sensitive machines - especially the JRs - will only become evident when flying......

Serioulsy pleased to hear it work out OK for you guys this time - as they say timing is everything.

Hey Callum that's a shocker, but a great result!!! Prob a good thing know-one woke up until they were out of the house, could have been ugly!!

For future reference, just remember if you do happen to catch one of these scum bags in the act:

"officer, I just grabbed the first thing I could find to protect myself" and by coincidence I had just been polishing my baseball bat before I went to bed:-)

Long time no post (Having a kid and buying/moving house does that). Seeing as everyone I used to fly with has either ran away (I'm looking at you Jack and JP!) or stopped flying for now I'm after some new people to talk smack with (and fly a little too).

Does anyone fly at the Akl Domain during lunch/after work? Or anyone in the Botany/Highland park/Howick area? I know there is highbrook but I don't have to fly there due to being leccy only

Just finished converting my MCPX to brushless (Awesome btw) so keen to throw it down whenever possible. The Atom will be going FBL in the new year also so will look forward to doing that (Thanks Andrew for the info).

Flew the brushless mcpx properly for the first time today out at flat bush. It flew awesome, flips and rolls whilst holding the tail no issues. Still have to be careful on the collective but considering the wind today it was very very solid. Looking forward to flying it in calmer weather.

Also good to meet up with Allen and Phil at the field out there so look forward to doing some more flying.

LOL some of these dumb $hits might think twice about pinching iPhones from now on. Some tard judge will let them off becasue they have had a bad childhood.

They would have trouble sneaking through your house if you get a big F off dog

The 2012 DUHSD is all go, you can buy your ticket now and secure a spot. The beds are limited so get in early, also there are extra prize draw chances for pilots who register early.

Callum - holy sh$%#!!

Scary stuff having those losers in your house at the same time as your family was home asleep. I also have 2 daughters and don't want to think about the worst-case scenarios.

Glad they caught them - they could quite easily have got away and you'd forever be wondering....

It's a pity they didn't recover the 3 new Rave/Whiplash/Kasama helis your wife had got you that were wrapped under the xmas tree

I've just registered for DUHSD - finally an event that doesn't fall on my wifes birthday weekend!

Jets at Tokoroa this weekend if anyone wants to pop over for a nosey.

Cheers,

Steve Engle

Signed up for DUHSD.

Now sign up for the Nationals as well.

Footey, we have the dog but the fella (big golden lab) was in his kennel which is directly under the house. He would of just thought it was me getting up wondering around the house. He was agitated when i let him out 30 mins later and gave the cops a bit of a talking to when they arrived. He now sleeps IN the house, and I feel very secure that this will not happen again, particularly that he sleeps in my daughters room where the kid came thru the window.

Yep, the iPhone thing is a goody. The detective the next day said they are lucky to get ani info/goods/arrests etc in 1 in 12 cases. That morning within 45 mins of our breakin they had 5 arrests, 2 stolen cars and gear from 5 burglaries.

Had a bloody Deans plug come undone on my Vibe90E the other day. Just as I pitched it up into the vertical after a pass. Thought that heli isnt going up as fast as normal. Ahhhhh.....

Managed it get it around and auto it back into the paddock rather than the bush it was over, but a bit heavy on landing and bent main shaft.

Plugs had had a lot of use. It was into that Align series connector that goes with the 700E's. Changing them for XT60 and will make up own 12's adapter. The yellow ones, unless anybody thinks others are much better.

See you all at the Nats/DUHSD.
