Jonzey is right, Spend the money on a good heli. Night and day between a HBK and equivalent Align. Plus a 450 pro is a hot rod straight outa the box. Fair enough if your cash is limited but if your going to keep at it then a deicent machine is a must. Even a HK 450 would be better. $120 for a air frame on TM.
No matter what you do to your HBK, it will still be a HBK!!

Why fly RC helis? Because Rugby, Soccer and Golf only require 1 ball...

plus it now flies just as good as any decent heli now, since I put on that aftermarket rotorhead.

dear god we are going through this again. Take the advice. Bin the POS or at least stop talking about it. There must be a fair few looking at the 'ignore' button again.

Funny as hell though.

a K3D tail boom is cheaper than a King 2 one and the various shafts are the same price. K3D skid struts are the same price as king2 skids, K3D flybars are cheaper than king2...

I could go on but i wont.

I looked at all the parts i needed when i crashed the king and its cheaper to fix the same parts on a K3D, except the main blades which are twice the price.

Ben.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH I don't know how that happened. But one guy here compared my KingII to a Honda City, IDK what that was until I Googled it & it's one of those "Shopping Basket" cars that I see driving around. You guys want me to buy what you call a "Decent heli" which to me is a go-fast hardcore stunt machine. Yes the KingII may be the "Honda City" of the heli world but I've gone with "Learn on the VW first before you drive the Porsche, if you can drive the VW without crashing it, then you can buy the big fancy Porsche you've dreamed of" so it doesn't matter what you say, at the end of the day, I'll still be flying my KingII whether you like it or not.

Actually now that I think about it, I initially payed $250.00 for my HBKII & spend a further 2K on it in the two years I've owned it. That's about 1K per year when you consider I pay around $15~$55 for replacement/upgrade parts. A 30 class Nitro you'll pay at least 1K for it & a further 1.5K for radio gear, batteries, engine, fuel & servos etc. Which by now you've spent about $2500.00 so far & that would be in the space of say one month? Not to mention when you crash it, the machine is a total write-off (Being a nitro heli which beats itself to death on the ground with its engine or the fact it's a bigger machine, bigger machine=more weight, more weight=more inertia, more inertia=more damage on impact, more damage=expensive repairs). & you'd end up buying a completly new helicopter.

So you tell me whether or not I've made a good decision about my KingII?

I haven't failed, I've just found 10,000 was to not succeed

What we are saying is that a better heli flys better, dont have to be doing stunts. I know for a fact that a Align 450 will hover and do circuits better than any HB. (for that matter my mSR will too) Meaning that learning to fly a heli is better on a 'good' machine. Simple as that. But if your budget minded then hey, fly what you will fly. One day when you get a 'better' heli you will understand. More $ at the beginning but well worth it in the long run.
Not completely bagging your HBK (I had one once....once) And they are cheap, to operate, in constuction, for parts but if I were you Id be saving for the next step and not blinging your honda city.

On a different subject, who's got the demo SK-360 flybarless system at the moment? I've just been doing a bit of room cleaning and found the manual for it and wanted to see who I should send it to.

Hey Nicho,

You could have got a T-Rex 600 with DX7, Align starter, Fuel pump etc for $1500 Craig just sold his and there are others around at bargain prices.

You don't like to listen to advice so I won't give you any.
You can learn the hard way.....

Rave Down

It finally happened, the Rave decided it was time to meet the ground. Was my 2nd flight for the day, heli was flying perfect untill i decided to do a wall, thats when the after market canopy thought it was a good time to play with the blades.

Ooooooo Bro .....

Stink one - especially if the canopy decided to meet with the blades which resulted in your heli coming down for a rebuild!
Im sure Foot Soldier has all your parts to repair.

P.s (since I can see you need new blades) Try out the CY FBL 710s blades - I hear they hang forever sice you love the big autos

Oh Man that sux, it was flying so nice toooo. Just doesn't feel the same after the first crash, but I'm sure you will have it looking/flying sweet again. What you gonna do about the motor damage?

I was gutted to put my 700n in the dirt on the last fly it DUHSD, after spending 3 days (with the help of the Aussies) getting it flying so nice....

At least you didn't need a bucket & hose "Asap"

Hope the damage isn't to bad.
