... and they never aired my comment how 'our' toy love was somewhat different to Chris Knox's Toy Love. Too much camera shake I think when all the crew fell over larfing so hard and Chris trying to keep a straight face ;-)

I think they did a great job of putting all the footage together into a fun and enlightening show with out great expectations and not making us look like a bunch of nerds !

It's so annoying - I have no idea why ALL TVNZ episodes are not available online after they have aired. Grrrrr.

Thanks for the link- it's now winging its way around the world.

I looked at the website last night, and it wasn't up yet. Maybe they had to wait for the episode to air, or something.

I might not be able to make it to the field today- I probably should wait here for the calls to start coming in from Hollywood........

Well we saw a whole lot of crashing of helicopters in your TV program LOL

A bunch of 500 size electrics would have been god, more control and more power so your loo paper woulodn't drag you around.

There is a new lama that is much bigger so that would have been a bloody good option, still cheap to crash and easy to fly but bit more poewr and control. Good publicity for helicopters all the same

Kev- yeah, there are a whole lota options for the helis that could have been used, but I think it came down to the usual things- ease of operation, fast repairs, and cost.

I think we went through either 10 or 12 helis on the night, with few left flyable. We could have used another 20-30 sets of mains- that was what always needed replacing, of course. Just a couple minutes work to get back in the air- but after a while- we ran outta spares. But we knew this would happen, so it wasn't a drama.

We also now think that there is a problem with radio interference in that hall on 72mhz, as seen from several recent indoor session there. The culprit may be the rt's used in the building next door. That probably added to some issues.

It was a good show, with lotsa stuff left in the editing room. Fortunately- that includes most of my interview!

I don't know Jack but I would imagine still very muddy with the almost daily rain we have had. I will be out there with the 4WD so if you do come, ring my cell and I'll come collect you from the road if you like.

Yeah, apart from yesterday the Wx has been rubbish. Nice days have rain mixed in for good measure. Not good for drying out flying fields.

BTW - our Club AGM is 10 November and they are going to discuss "An attempt to improve wet weather access by laying down some limestone chip (we are getting prices for this)."

Yeah!

Anyone who flies at NSMAC, here are the AGM details:

=========================
North Shore Model Aero Club AGM is set for
7 pm, Tuesday 10 November
at Absolute Plastics
43 William Pickering Dr.
Albany.
North Shore City

An outline of the agenda is:

1. A review of the year/report by the president

2. Treasurers report

3. Any items from the past year for discussion
So far these are:
a. The Rodney Council's Plans for the farm (so far they are on hold)
b. The purchase of a new mower (even after Grant's major rust repair work, this one struggles at times)
c. The purchase of a container to store it in (a new mower could be stolen). This OK by Bruce the farmer manager
d. An attempt to improve wet weather access by laying down some limestone chip (we are getting prices for this). This OK by Bruce the farmer manager
e. Purchase of another electric fence to replace the one that was stolen

3. Election of Officers for 2009/10

4. General Business

5. Tea/coffee

Notes:

1. If there any items you would like on the agenda that you would like specifically discussed, please email me and I can add them.

2. The current President Chris Byrne; Club Captain; Grant Gedye and Secretary Treasurer; John Robertson are available for re-election.
If other members would like to stand for these offices, please indicate that to me. The actual nomination, seconding and election can be done at the AGM but it would be useful to know in advance.
====================

PLEASE come along and show your support and give input.

Yo Kev
Mr. F- yup the F1 show is still here- last week, I think it closes on the 1st of Nov.

I'd be pleased to meet up with you and show you around the joint. I can promise to bore you with some behind the scenes stories, too!

If the timing woirks out- maybe we can have dinner together at the Green Parrot- drag along a couple local heli guys too.

I'm at home this week- so email me at heliboyg2@clear.net.nz.

See ya soon- G

'Sexiest scale heli not seen at the field- Dean'

Not true ! I saw dean flying it at our field during the club's Christmas BBQ last year. Was great.... until the tail drive gears stripped. Then it was a 'brown smell' moment pirouetting to a land. Great save by Dean.

Dave- well, can I say that if I didn't see it- it couldn't have happened?? No, huh?? Darn- I'm wrong again!

Well, it looked pretty anyway. I guess Dean has his hands full now with his move up North- he'll be missed.

I've got some info for ya, as requested. I'll email you directly.

Later- G2

Hey Jason,

I'm back in Auckland now so if you go up to the field any time post on here or gimmi a txt and I'll come on up.

Gonna go up today to see what it looks like and maybe walk down to the field and fly the small plane.

Should be returning to work half days around mid Nov so want to get as much flying in as possible before then.
