Ohhh and you can find them on Heli Freak, dont know what the story is but I guess there must have been a lovers spat and Mark has chased Finless away.

Finless being kicked from RR is old news now. He has been hosted on the Freak for quite a while now...

His main setup videos are here:
http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=41692

His videos are very good IMHO.

Here is the phasing discussion by Finless Wayne:

http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=107306

He found no issues with the phasing. I spoke with Tom and the head was designed on purpose the way it was.

I'll be going to Hibiscuss.

Steve:
When we next catch up remind me to bring the rondo for you to try. I set it up on the 500 over last weekend at Kevins and am very impressed with the ease and programmability of the unit. It has some very nice features which overcome a few of the things that pissed me off when trying to fine tune the sk360. If you want we could set it up over a weekend like one of the upcoming hamilton or rotorua events so I can help you out with the initial setup. That will give you a good base to fine tune it yourself from there. They are not hard but can be done a lot quicker once you know what your doing (fairly confident with flybarless setups now ), or have someone to explain in lamen terms what each of the settings are doing.

Alternatively if you just can't wait to try it out and don't mind driving to otahuhu you can pick it up from my house.

Also if you get a chance I'd recommend getting a servo wire Y lead so that you can use your already installed tail gyro during setup, and then you can try the tail gyro in the rondo unit once the head gyros are setup. This is the way I would do it if setting it up on the 500 again.

Did you have to set up the advance settings in the rondo ??

Did you format my setting & start again or look to see what was there first. We found the model to be really soft when flying & could nt make it anymore responsive. Mind you we did nt go into the advance set up. The unit is not user friendly to the average modeller that wants to set up & go flying after a couple of weeks of trying it i gave up & theres not much i give up on, as far as R/C products go this is a great unit & i believe it will work well but the instructions have to be written so average joe can understand it & also give some examples with pics of screen displays so people can relate to whats being said.

Are you also using the tail gyro on this unit or still your own at this stage.

Just out of interest do you take much notice of your cell pro 10 charger % screen ??? i just put on a brand new 3300 mah lipo @ 1c it said 14% on the screen & only put in 1384 mah that does nt make sense ???

Cheers wayne

Yes you do need to go to the advance settings, the stock advance settings are done in such a way that make it almost impossible to have a crash on your first flight (not including pilot error ), hence the really soft and disconnected feel. There are probable a few settings in the advance menu that could have gone in the basic menu, as I think the basic menu is more to do with setup before the first flight (ie gyros working in the right direction), and advanced menu is the setup for how you want it to fly.

I started with blank settings and used the inbuilt tail gyro. I only had one spare channel on the receiver so that channel was controlling both the tail gain and head gain. Even with this single gain setup (you set the gain offsets in the unit) it was still pretty easy to up the gains. It would have been easier to concentrate on the head with a tail already setup, which just would have ment less concentration on the model to decide if the tail needed tweeking or the head.

Yes the instructions are not quite up to par, but in saying that how far do you think you would have got on the csm flybarless setup, if you had no starting parameters or help from ppl on RR? Same goes for V-Bar, only reason a lot of ppl buy it is the massive forums that go into depth to the problems and how to fix them. The sk360 is nice is this respect because it gives you a standard sport, 3D or scale starting settings, but even then you will need to go into its advanced parameters to get it flying how you want.

Ignore the % on the cell pro charger, it gets more accurate as the charge goes and it gets more info from the battery and is usually way off at the beginning. I use the mAh display to see how much has been put back into the battery, as that is much more accurate.

Hey Wayne what is the new 3300mah pack you have? Looking at replacing my old packs as my Atom is working them hard.

The air show was well worth the $5.00 entry fee yesterday dam some of those big planes get thrown around when they are empty, even the C17 Globemaster was looking a bit areobatic LOL.

Only gripe was the F--ing hour and forty five minutees it took us just to get out of the bloody car park when it finished

Ran into a few guys up there, was hard case to end up on the motorway next to Jonny on the way there. good old Auckland traffic jam at its best. I think I will fly in next time or take a motor bike.

Every time I go to Auckland, I like Hamilton more

I went up to Coldplay Thursday eve. The trusty GPS says "16km to go, 12 minutes"... and a little boys waits....
We were sitting there on the "motorway" going nowhere. I should have known that passing the "Princes St" ramp was 1/2 way

I was going to go to the airshow but I had to see off family at the Int Airport between 4:30 an 6. There is no way would have made it unless I left the show at 3pm.

Well Hibiscus was a bit :P.

No offense to the plank fliers there, the setting was great for them and the crowd was good, but when they said at the pilot meeting in the morning that "the day was not a funfly but for the public to learn about our hobby" i kind of lost interest, If I knew it was going to be like that then I would have different thoughts but the flier specifically said funfly.

Some beautiful models though I must admit.

went back to north shore around 11-12 and there was a bunch there. got 4 flights in as well so was pretty chuffed.

even did a nose in hover, granted it was for only 3-4 seconds but i didn't crash

spot on weather though, was a really nice day in the end.

Pics for the day below:
