Why would you need any other websites other than RR, HF and Rchelis.co.nz

HF?

you can never have too many websites

I'm not looking to make a profit making website, just something to do as a hobby, could even be a blog site, I just need something to do and I know I can make ok websites.

Nitro wins, but only when you don't add the extra bits like glow plugs, bearings etc.
Yeah...it does. And my nitro doesn't go POOF when I hit the ground....LOL
We will have to get together and have a beer up there this week and thrash it out Ian...LOL
Actually, one baddy about nitro as well is you can cook it if not careful. One for the leccies there.

I was going to say what about melting your heli after crashing like with a Leccy, but given a lot of people run lipos on their nitros same could still happen hehe.

One thing tho is Nitro is likely to increase in price over time whereas leccy will come down.

Doubt it. Battery performance will increase but prices will stay relatively static for some time IMO.

Which means the price/performance point will change in favour of electric.

For sure about the nitro price rise but leccies will have new and improved tech that will keep the price of the lastest and greatest batteries that we MUST have high in cost. At some stage it may tip in the leccies favour. Personally I hate smoke and mess on the heli's but this is a cost I am prepared to bear over the relatively short flight times, decreasing performance over a flight and over the life of the battery, possibility of POOF at any stage, cost of ESC, motor and battery and a descent charger plus multiple other batteries to decrease the "downtime".

On the plus side the cleanliness, quietness and power are great attributes. Perfect for scale and short 3D flights. The cost is still rather high if your battery doesn't do the distance.

Glow plugs I replace every so often but not regularly. Fuel is a concern for price and lets face it...that $hit can't be good for you huh? bearings?...Use my bearing tool and it's a fun job! LOL
Yes I use lipo's now in my nitro heli's so the arguement of the big bonfire isn't exclusively for leccies although most of these happen either on charge or crash and even then I have crashed and POOFED two lipos on 450's at $100 each and neither caught fire.

Both have good and bad points.

After doing more research i reckon at the moment the best price point for electrics is the 500 size. Can fly it the most and batteries don't cost 'that' much.

Once the US dollar crashes and burns it'll be worth looking at bigger electrics but not at the moment.

I'm wondering whether it's really worth getting these batts that burst up to 60c+ cos that's a s*#t load of amps considering my esc is only 60a!
