Tail lock at 80% suggests you may have the servo arm that may be too small. Try using Futaba 6 sided arm and use the outer most hole. This should bring the gain down to 30-50% range. Afterwards, try using the futaba setting. The drift issue when there is no severe vibration maybe due to wrong Tx selection.

Are you absolutely 100% sure you're actually in HH mode? You may have it set for 80% HH mode but possibly switched back to Rate mode. Check your flight modes incase something is causing it to switch gain%. No gyro should drift like that in HH mode, something is definitely wrong. I wouldn't suspect a short servo horn is the real problem since it's drifting that bad while only hovering.

Granted, the 6100 is more sensitive than other gyros to initial setup, but even with a poor setup it wouldn't cause that kind of drift.

By 80% what are you referring to, the Tx display or the actual gyro %? (80% on the Tx means 60% HH gain, and 50% on the Tx means the gyro isn't using HH or Rate mode, 50% Rate gain would be 25% on the Tx)...

Wrong Tx selection (as stated above) may also be the culprit.

Stupid question, but you mechanically trim the heli out when doing the initial setup?

6100T problem

Yes I did.
Initial set up as is written in the manual – normal mode 50% - set up linkage in the way that the tail doesn’t go anywhere when hovering. Than I land and switch over to tail lock mode – screen indicates gain 80% (I am going to lower it).
And it drifts as prescribed.
Well it was my first flight with the gyro. I followed the thread and it looks like I will have to spend some more time on the linkage setting. I have also a little allowance on the plate pitch. I need to solve that.
Will inform you as I go through this.
I am using it on Predator gasser. There is much more vibrations on the model then on the nitro ones.
That could be the case too.

in my Raptor E620 SE it was getting knocked out by ESD (static) but a few grounding wires between the boom, side frames, motor mount, and battery negative have stabilized it. Aside from that, it has been working great.

Stops from right hand pirouettes feel softer than those to the left. is anyone else noticing this? I haven't really paid attention with the other gyros I've been using (GY401, G7703D, VStabi) but I am noticing it with the 6100T.

Been using mine for over a year now and it works flawlessly. I'd buy one again if I needed to for another heli. Among many other things, I really like the extremely consistent piro's.

It also seems to be quite sensitive on the 600N but I have mine working wonderfully
