I have the problem with my EX that if you move the tail pitch slider full travel towards the tail hub the ball falls out of the socket.

But this was only with the servo linkage disconnected. Once I got it connected it doesn't seem to be a problem.

That to me would seem that it only can happen if the link is over extended, as in when the tail rod is not hooked up.
I dont have my tail servo kooked up, but I have the linkage connected to the tail, and mine has no probs.

Make sure that you can move the tail pitch slider full travel BOTH ways with out it falling off , if it falls off then it is NOT right , you may have to tinker with awhile to get it right . I had to cut the link ends (the plastic part) to get it right .
Remember, if it can fall off , it will fall off , so make sure you get it right !!

Quick has just released the EP18v2 EX heli... This is from the QoJ web-site , google translated!

New product sale notice (it is prompt those of sale)

EP-18V2EX version upgrade!

Price 32000 (classified by tax) 33600 (including tax)

Make wait it did. EP-18 changing minor, it is appearance. The difference with EP-16 is improved at the point where the tail becomes the rigid drive system and, in order furthermore for big pitch to take. Attaching the big motor of A40 size, in order the frame not to interfere, it improved also the frame.

Size the same as EP-16 system, is the rotor specification of 550mm.

has anyone ever tried these? they replace the rubber o-ring dampers and alu. spacer for a one piece alu. they definately are more rigid for the spindle shaft but now there is more noticeable play in the blade grips

Twinring , are you supposed to remove all of the "O" rings ?
My EX grips were real loose when I took them apart to check the bearings and change the thrust bearing washers to the new stainless ones ... the way I fixed them was to (blue) lock-tite the 2 radial bearings in place..Problem solved
I put the 2 radial bearings in the grip first(loc-tite) and then the thrust washer and then the thrust bearings last...
I found that if you do not loc-tite the bearings in place you can slide the grips back and forth on the radial bearings..not good.

Yup i'm using the rigid damper with good effects, sharpens up the actions quite a bit, do remember to lubricate the spindle as usual.

Jimbo,
yes these completely eliminate the o-rings. I may try out your suggestion.

Ammo,
I havent flown this setup yet, but this was the final head option that Ive bought and Ive been really impressed with the option parts that Quick makes for the EP8, in that you dont have to keep looking at the reciept to feel like your heli is flying any better.
