I use JR radios and Futaba servos.

I've done the whole bit with trimming, beveling, and sanding the futaba connectors. I hate it... and it results in a shabby connector that is difficult to use.

So I've resorted to cliping off the Futaba plugs. I crimp on new pins and put them in aftermarket JR plugs.

If you take a look at the pin receptacles from a Futaba digital servo, and compare them to any aftermarket pin receptacle, you'll see that the Futaba design is obviously superior. The gold plating is thicker, the contact "fingers" are thicker and stronger.

So now I want the best of both worlds. I want a JR connector shell that will accept the Futaba pin recepticles. I want to simply pull the pins out of the Futaba shell and put them in a JR shell.

Do you know where I can find JR shells that will fit the Futaba pins?

Local hobby store? I've seen the same pins packaged with JR shells as with Futaba shells (male and female). Note that none of these are Futaba branded pins (of course, Futaba doesn't manufacture their own pins anyway), but the shells would work perfectly fine with the stock Futaba pins.

i'm still looking for a solution to that dilemma also.. i did try to use the shell of an aftermarket supplier at one point also.. (bought some used servos and the connectors were shaved for jr) and tried to put the jr and futaba aftermarket shells on and no dice the original pins did not fit into the new aftermarket shells.. cant remember the brand of the aftermarket shells.. but i guess its trial and error..would like to know if there is anyone out there that does sell the shells that jr use on their pin and shell assembly

crashes sponsored by VISA, MASTERCARD, and AMEX.. just like your heli.. never leave home without it

Here's what the Futaba connector looks like compared to an aftermarket connector.
