I am waiting for the unit that I can fly from my van not too far away it looks like and I mean affordable!!
They exist now.
Just be willing to step up to the responsiblity of owning such a system.
The day is coming soon where owning something like this will take more than money.

We bought all the modules at once. I got the thing mostly for the position hold feature wich requires the gps and altimeter modules.

the front gimbal is a revamped version of the one i designed and built about a year ago. It was just just modified last week to be able to take the video camera and the kenyon and still balance. i lightened it up a bit and moved the whole thing down and aft to help with balancing. also put some of the carvec equipment and the kenyon battery on the boom platform way down close to the tail, plus making an extended platform for the main battery to sit way aft.

the gimbal is 3 axis, roll tilt and pan and all axis go though the camera CG. The camera is actually mounted to a plate that "floats". the kenyon is also mounted to that plate.

the initail test yesterday was pretty encouranging but i still have an occasional vibe that makes it to the camera. once i get that out, i think it will produce some smooth fluid video....

Looks nice Dan! Interesting concept. Can't wait to see some footage.

Any footage of the mount itself? (ie. holding the heli fully loaded with the KS-2 spooled up and moving the heli to see the gimbal)

Thanks!

heres a short vid that contains a few clips taken with the new front mount with ks2 mounted directly on the camera plate.

so far its still not perfect surely, but its getting better. i think i need to get the remaining vibes out of the heli. the swimming shots were from a job we did awhile ago with a modified m1. there was some post processing done on these clips.

im posting on youtube because when i post video on rr directly from the our website, i usually get so many hits that i use up the bandwidth and have to pay additional charges....

JohnC , Good to hear from you.

Take your time for the reply I am in no hurry. Did not get acknowledgment, that made me think that email was not working.

Looking forward to your response.
