I know these are plank questions but I think Helicopter pilots are usually a "pay grade" higher than the usual stationary wing guys and girls.
I'm thinking about building a park scale TU-95 Bear and would love to try some small contra rotating props using either brushed 350 or 400 motors (just because I have a spare 35 amp speed controller).
I was thinking about adapting the mechanism in one of the cheap coax helicopters. Anyone crash one of these and have to replace these components ( main shafts, gears, blade holders, etc.).How spendy are the components? Anyone ever done C.R. Props in another lifetime. I could engineer it myself but sometimes its alot of fun just bashing someone elses product to do something different.

Oops, read the question wrong. Could you maybe adapt one of the hollow shafts available for the motors, and install another motor behind it? Not sure how it would work, and it sounds like it would end up being a fairly heavy setup.
