Anyone in or near Shreveport that has T-rex setup and trimming experience? I've got mine all together and even let a pro set it up and test fly it but I must have accidentally bumped something since then. For example, when I pull straight back on the right stick, the rotor disk moves back and to the left...when I push it forward, the rotor disk moves forward and to the right. Same thing basically happens on left/right inputs as well. Sounds like a simple trim adjustment, but I have played with it and really haven't made much difference. When I get up enough nerve to lift it off the ground, it seems it isn't responding in the direction I am inputing. Needless to say, it is a handful trying to keep steady. I am just hoping that there are some local heli pilots that I can meet and hang out with to hopefully learn some things. Anyone? Bueller?? Anyone?

Im from N.O.
Haha not that close to Shreveport but I have had a few rexes.
Your problem can be many things.
-too much throw on the servos
-is your canopy touching the servo links causing the servo to get stuck?
-you may need to redue the swash values
-you may need to change the travel adjustment.
-are you servos centered and getting full throw?

If you look at the linkages when moving the sticks, due the servos stop at a certain point?
Or is the servos look like they are mixing together when giving stick movement?

What kind of remote do you have?

If you're ever in Houston..... did you mess with any of the swash settings in the radio? What are your swash settings? What radio do you have?

I have a Futaba 6EXH radio with R146i PCM receiver. I had a reputable hobby shop in Dallas set up the servos and radio. I haven't flown it since. Yesterday when I was just playing around with it, I spooled it up in the garage. It was very light on the skids but not airborne. I moved the right stick and the rotor disk didn't go EXACTLY in that direction. As I stated before, back on the stick is actually back and to the left (when viewed from the tail end) and up on the stick is actually forward and to the right. All this is with the canopy off. I don't know if he intentionally set it this way to counteract torque, pitch, roll, whatever or if I accidentally bumped the trims or something. I do know that the radio has two choices for swash. 1s and 3s. The 3s is for electronic mixing ang that's what it's set for (more than one servo moves at a time). He stated that it is not the best radio in the world, but it's not the worst either. He said it would work but that I should upgrade to a 7 or 9 ch when I get another heli. I personally don't see what's wrong with the one I have. It has 6 ch. (all I need) and has 5 pt. curves. I like it!

Hey blackkat98,

While I don’t live in Shreveport, I do fly in quite often and will be there this weekend. PM me tonight if you would like to get together and get your Rex figured out.

If the wind is not to high I will be at bodcau spillway.
Bodcau is about 15 miles to the East of Shreveport.
Take I-20 the the Haughton Fillmore Exit 157 to the north and follow the signs to the north end of the dam.

I just want to publicly thank Dave, AKA X30pilot, for helping me get my T-rex setup and tweaked. He knows his stuff and really helped me ALOT!!! I can actually fly this bird now! Thanks again, Dave! I look forward to flying again in the future.

Brokenrotor, have you got your T-rex back together yet? You never did say what day you guys go to Bodcau, but after reading your last post, I figured out it was today. Anyway, I may come to the SHARKS meeting on Tuesday night.
