I was going to use 1500 packs from great planes but they will not be in until late March. So decided to use some other type. Seems like alot of the populare brands are out of stock. Is any one useing this pack Kokam Cell Pro 2000mAh 3-Cell Pack. I found a picture of one but cant tell what kind of a conector I'll need for my charger to charge them. Wanting to use my Honnico MKII field charger. Or maybe buy the Triton if needed.

Thanks
Matthew

You can find the TP 2100 prolite batteries for $66 at lightflightrc.com. Another great choice is the evo20 1800 ($65 or so). The best bang for your buck will be the Apex 2100 (you can get 2 for $100).

Use either Deans Ultra or the Anderson Power Poles 30A (sermos). A balancer is also a nice thing to have. Check the video for soldering deans connectors in the trex forum. Here is the link. http://www.runryder.com/helicopter/t241028p1/

I have a cell pro cell, the 2000mah 3 cell. I've never had a problem with the pack. I'm using a 450th brushless motor, and the battery is supplying plenty of power for it. I am also using the Deans connectors.

So you charge it through the same conection were you hook it to the speed controller, or is there another conector?

I am using the Kokam 2000 (15C) with a 450F. The pack is a bit heavy though but very powerful combination. I am using Deans Ultra connectors too. Next batteries, I think I will take the Apex batteries as they are lighter and less expensive.

I've been using the Kokam Cell Pro 2000mAh 3-Cell Pack in my all stock MX400(Heli-Max 6 pole motor and the 25 amp ESC)and I get 8 to 10 min. of flight. I also use the deans connectors. I had to build my own charge adapter.

Thanks for the help guy. SO I can charge them useing the same hook up were it discharges from. I have Duralites for my 90 heli and they have a dicharge and charge conection on them just didn't know if they was anything like that on these packs.

Also what did you make your charge conectors with?

I have a female end of a deans connector on my battery, with a male end on my esc. I also have a male end of a deans on my charge lead. So I use the same connector type throughout charging and flying.

You will not be charging above 2 A, so the charge leads dont have to be very big. Use what you already have for charging.

I just used left over wire that I had for my charge leads, I think it was 16 gauge. Squirrlybird is right, you won't be charging over 2A, so your leads don't have to be huge.
