Someone from Greece is sending fraudulant Second Chance offers on this particular heli. Read the details. This might be going on on other auctions so beware of the offers. They are not showing up in your "My ebay"

You want to see fraud? Look at what this guy has been selling!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

Look at his completed listings. Poor saps buying these think they are getting a deal

If you do a search on the auction titles you can find the actuall items.

And E-Bay doesn't do a MF'in thing to stop this even after if I emailed em.

Sad... I did email all the winners and warn em though. One of the guys told me I was full of it and trying to scam him??? I guess he will learn the hard way.

I just can't believe that a scam like mentioned in the last post still has people falling for it. It has been around for over a year.

Well thanks for the warning with the new scam. I guess I can not respond to any emails that I recieve from ebay, but go to ebay itself and go to my ebay. I am upset because I send a good amount of second chance offers and I really can't do that effectively, especiallly when they are being used to scam people.

Your right, ebay does nothing about it. They are probably making money somehow with it. They either sign up pay the value value fee with a credit card or give ebay 5 dollars to verify them when they sell under each new account. Ebay has to be making money somewhere or else they would be doing something about it.

I always find it amusing when I get second chance offers on items I haven't bid on. For items I have bid on, they come from different people. Dur.

"Completed listing" usually means the auction is over. Either the time on it expired or someone bought it. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Ebay allows you to give lower bidders a "Second Chance Offer" if the winning bidder backs out. It's very convenient and keeps you from having to relist.

I'm always getting second dodgy chance offers, a real one is like a buy it now, not a message from different seller asking to sell outside eBay.

I got that second chance offer in my email. How would anyone know what my email addy is? It's not listed on ebay and I didn't give it out to anyone but that seller. On that second chance mailing, there was nowhere that suggested anything but returning to ebay site to complete the transaction. There was, of course, no real second chance according to the seller. I'm not suggesting that there aren't any scams involving ebay or that ebay doesn't suck. I just wonder if that was a real scam or just an ebay screwup. Not much of a scam if they can't get something from you. This world is full of some real dummies though!

The guy is still after me.

I converted his correspondences to html files and deleted my personal info...

Get a lick out of how this guy works.

Read each one in order... Remember these are only emails. In no way are they connected to the actual auction except for links to ebay.com and the sender is not the seller.

Never buy from someone new with no history unless its a small amount that you can afford to have stolen.

Good advice.

The guy scamming me wasn't even a member of ebay as far as I could see.

Wow he is determined. I guess I never noticed the sent from address in the email he sent me. Since there was no link pointing me in his direction, I never got back to him. I checked my ebay account and contacted the real seller by the address provided by ebay. He was the one that informed me that it had actually been sold and shipped.
Guess one can never be to careful, huh?

I am very suspicious of anyone not in the US. Every scam I have seen like these have been from people in other countries.

Its kinda of telling though... A helicopter worth $1500 isn't selling for more than $250.

If it looks to good to be true.... probably is.

I am also leary of anyone w/ less than 10 feedbacks as a seller. Much bigger chance that the item will be less than described.

Listen to this story. I had a guy about 2 years ago that had a heli that by luck ( or so he stated in his ebay auction)lived 10 mins from me. Well I emailed him and asked him if he would end auction early, I will give him what his reserve was! He emailed me back stating that he could as long as I was sure that I would buy and western union the funds ASAP ! So I emailed him back and said why West Union the money when I could put it in his hand???? That didnt make sense to me but, nevertheless he tried and tried to get me to West Union the money until I got fed up and told him that my brother(which is true) is a State Trooper in our area and he would meet him at the West Union office when he picks up the money.I told him I wanted to make sure he got it. Well I never heard from him again, so I guess he decided to scam elsewhere ! ! !!

This misspelling in the last correspondence one is the nail in the coffin. "...and to **loose** the money, too." WAH WAH WAH

Send the guy a Western Union payment for $1.00
I can imagine him racing to the Western Union store to pick up his bounty...
