You really need a GOOD set a allen wrenches, all of mine are to soft and the ends are rounding off from years of use. Definately pitch guage. I have managed without all the balancing tools up until this winter, and all my machines were smooth. Ball link pliers would be great.

i wouldnt say you cant live without ball link pliers, it just makes life alot easier, but it is possible to pull links off safely without it, it just takes a struggle and some long fingernails to grab either side.

A ball reamer however i would say you cant live without that, its an essential tool for making heli's running smoothly, apart from that we cant live without hex drivers and screw drivers lol

"What tools could you NOT live without?"

I could not live without my long sguigly pink & grey noodle (the one between my ears). With it I'm able to figure out what other tools I really need and which ones are unnecessary.

I'll catch flak for this I'm sure, but I've owned a pitch gauge since I first got into this sport and never once used it. Instead I use my long sguigly pink & grey noodle (the one between my ears) to equalize and maximize all the linkages and throws. Past that I don't really care where the pitch ends up because I know that it's the most it can be, and that it's set for equal amounts of positive and negative. I've only had to turn a long link once to bring tracking into line.

Anybody want to buy a TT pitch gauge cheap?
