Yes they have and some big ones also.
Has the ama paid out claims?
If they had never paid any claims, they could still get the coverage underwritten like they used to. Cost for AMA to get member coverage underwritten by insurance company went so high several years ago that they had to go self insured best I remember.
Lots of times that secondary coverage can become primary, if the party does not have homeowners or if the homeowners can wiggle out of coverage due to some clause about aircraft accidents not covered.
Also you get from AMA for yourself, limited personal injury coverage for model aviation related injury and coverage for your models/supplies if lost due to thieft or fire.
Some of this could have changed, I am typeing from memory.
If someone is interested in exact current AMA coverage, check the coverage description available at modelaircraft.org or probably in the membership material sent to new and renewing members.
Before it goes into file 13, check in AMA's Model Aviation mag, might be some information in it or information as to where it can be found.
