At first it seems very confusing. With a little work it will seem simple. Most people are running +- 10 degrees of pitch in normal and idel up. Your pitch curve should be "linear" meaning all points in the curve have equal distance ie 0 25 50 75 100. 0 should be -10 degrees and 100 should be +10 degrees of pitch - to get there you will need to adjust your linkages a good start will be to put your throttle stick in the center - curve at 50 and your blades should be at 0 degrees of pitch. If they are not you will need to adjust your linkages so you have 0 degrees.
Once you have your pitch curve set up the throttle curve in normal mode is used to start the blades spinning and for hovering - usually you want 1500 rpm - and you acheive this by using a Tach or get someone with some experience and they will be able to tell this by ear. Idel up can be activated when the stick is in the center to bring the RPMs up to flying speed - this will be up to what you feel comfortable with but a good rule of thumb is 1700- 1850 RPM - again you achieve this by raising the throtle curve until the blades are spinning the desired speed. After that you will need to set up the high points by flying the chopper around and having some help with an optical tach or simply by ear - if the rotor shounds like it is slowing raise the curve - over speeding by lowering the curve.
