I got a small problem. I will be receiving a brand new walbro 603 and 644 carb. I won them on ebay. I placed a bid on the 603 carb for $16. I bought the 644 carb. Didn't think I would win the 603 carb. But ,I did. So I have the two new carbs coming in early this week. Which one would recommend for a G230 puh engine in an xcell gasser. I actually got the stock 167a carb running pretty good, but, only hear good things about both the 603 and 644 carbs. Any suggestions??

I think that the most recomeded carb for helis is the 643 but the 644 is prety much the same except it has the choke as part of the carb. So maybe the 644 would be the best. I have a 643 and a 644 and they look the same to me other than one has a choke and the other doesn't.
I don't know know anything about the 603 so this my info probably doesn't help much.

The 603 is a good carb for the 230puh and it works much better than the 167. The 643,644 and 645 carbs are the same carb supposibly and have differences in choke and primer bulbs between the models. The 64* series of carbs work extremely well on the G26 and G231 motors and should work very well on the G23 as well.

Try them both and find out!

I have 644 carbs on both of my x-cells with 230's and they work great. If you want to use the original air cleaner/choke,simply remove the choke from the carb and JB Weld the shaft holes. This will effectively give you a 643.
