How is the Thunder Power TP 425? I'm looking to get set up with LiPos and it seemed like a cheap enough charger and it's gotten a few good reviews that I could find. Is anyone here using it with their blade? Should I be worried about a cell balancer???

I have a total of 3 TP-425 chargers and take them everywhere with me (2 of them are over a year old). I use them to charge my BCP packs (3S 730-900mAh) as well as packs for my T-Rex (3S 2100mAh) and everything in between.

I really like the compact size, durability and safe ease of use these chargers offer.

It looks similar to an Apache 2500, and interestingly has the same specs. My Apache died after 8 months.

I replaced it with an Astro 109. I have decided that I will only buy chargers from well known charger mfgs, who must be in the USA or have USA service centers, and who must post their warranty info. Thunder Power doesn't say anything on their site about a warranty.

I have Tekin and Astro NiCd chargers that have lasted more than 10 years and I still use them today. They have that kind of history with hundreds of users. On the other hand, this TP-425 while cheap, could be just as disposable.

What's cheaper - a $50 charger that lasts 1 year, or a $125 charger that lasts nearly forever?

Sounds like two of us found out already...
