This is my first introduction to Li-Pos, chargers and power supplies.
I'm alittle confused and concerned about proper usage
and hookup for my TRex.

I bought a ProPeak 20Amp Power Supply, a TP-425 Charger,
and two TP2100 3S batteries from Jeremy. Nice guy btw.
They are on his site here...http://www.rchover.com/chargers

Question 1:

The ProPeak has female +/- inputs that appear to accept connectors
while the TP-425 has alligator clips. Do you guys simply
clip these onto the power supply jumper cable style?

I'd feel more comfortable with matching "plug" male connectors.

Question 2:
The battery connector on the TP-425 is a small red connector.
I plan on putting Deans on my batteries so what is the solution here?
Do I have to cut off the red connector and solder in a Deans?

Question 3:
Am i right in assuming the black connector on the TP2100
is for balancing?

Question 4:
I've looked and cannot find any tutorials/advice for wiring up
TP2100s or LiPos in general. Know of any links?
The TRex build threads I've seen always leave this stuff out.

Many Thanks
Chris

Hi Chris

With the pro peak you can clip your charger leads on, or cut them off and put banana connectors on, I use a Schulze charger and just clip them on with the supplier croc clips

for your charger, you can cut of the TP connector and solder on the deans connector or make up a patch lead with the opposite TP plug and your deans connector on the other end

yes the black connector is for balancing, you need a TP205

not sure what info you need for wiring up the cells, the balancing leads you dont need to do anything with accept plug a balancer in, and the black and red cables just need your deans connectors

hope this helps a bit

Andy

Thanks Andy,

I think I'm good now. I was also PM'd about this by someone else.
There was a bit of grey area there and I wanted to make
sure before screwing something up.
