your tail servo is the only REAL thing that can be upgraded.

If your already running 9650 with the 401. Your there, it is as good as it is gonna get,

I have tried about 5 different sets of tail blades,

You got the skills, just fly through the tail issues, it will make you better that you already are, IMO.

I think the only thing that would really improve it, would be a speed up gear. now that we got some blades that are doing well. The SE tail blades are the best that I have tried,

I got a SL560 Micro V3 with a HDS-877 digital micro servo, the tail seems to do well, it just looses its grip at times.

i have taken down some of my collective to try (hopefully tommorow) - i might have went overboard with collective causing some decay in RPM and tail lock loss, we'll see..

The 430L has a lot of torque being an outrunner but can be bogged.

Mine "loads up" but doesn't bog too bad when I'm not using the extreme pitch ranges. It holds fairly well but the tail servo needs to be upgraded to the 9650 soon as Futaba gets them back in stock. I don't think theres enough resolution with my Futaba 3103 micro that causes wag in hard manuvers. Never blows though...

Hi
for the 9650 is it necessary to run it with 6V to get good results?
I just bought one and would like that this servo works (after all the others I tested :-( ) well.

Thanks

vex,

Not really necessary but I have noticed improved holding and control when using Medusa 6v on 9650 and 401 with stock blades in 450XL.

Not sure what material they're made of. Align claims that in addition to slowing down the tail, it runs quieter and wears better, so it's probably a different material. You do not lose tail power with these gear. Plus the gyro will not have to work as hard to lock the tail (higher gyro gain).

I have a prototype set on the way to try out. I'll report my finding soon.
