Hello All,

Is it Century Bell 222 .50size unpainted fuselage sell/send as one part (whole fuselage - long package) or tail section and fuselage "not connected" together?

I think the unpainted is the same as the painted ones. The fuse is one piece and you have separate tail fins and top deck section and windscreens.

hi
the centruy one is plastic, it comes as a grey plastic and as one piece,
and as other posters said you have to fit the tail fin and wings on,

it is ok, but the vario one is far easier, the century one i found a nightmare to work on the mechanics, i had too fat hands, so a simple thing like checking the mixture meant taking off the rotor head to remove the fuesehousing.

Also to get to anything you had to remove the rotor head, whereas the Vario one comes apart in half to reveal the mechanics,

i also found the retracts on the centruy one were awful they caused alot of vibration and i spent most of the time carefully balancing pitch and throttle curves to lessen the shake.

i had an Xcell60st mechanics in a 60 size fuse - there;s mor eopn my website

My Century Funkey Bell 222 is not plastic, it`s fiberglass. And i have not had any problems with the retracts. They work fine, and no vibs.
The mechs on my Bell is a Raptor 50V2. You only need a small modification on the talirotor gearbox. Appart from that it fits right in. (Have a look in my gallery).

All i can think of is the Xcell must be heavier which is why i had the terrible shakes,

It is intersesting on the 30 size fuse in the Model helli mag they had the same problem, they said it was a fine tweak between throttle and pitch curves to get rid of the shake.

They must of changed the kits, as mine was deffinatly a plastic type, and to get to the mechanics was a nightmare,

mind you in my opinion if your gonna go scale why fit a raptor into it, i have never seen real hellie smoke, i would go for a gasser or turbine, but then your talking of 5000 +

I know its not a 222 but I've just finished a Century/FunKey Twinstar and its definately fibreglass. The only non-fibreglass fuselages I've seen were the Kyosho Concept bodies which were the same material as Raptor canopies.

Sorry guys
excuse my thickness

it was fibre glass, not plastic,

thats what happnes when you just start out and pay someone to paint it for you!!!!!

for the record it was a fibre glass fuse that was grey, it was then primed and painted in 2 pack paint and lacquer.

Let us know how you get on

Matt
