My 9Z I just got fell off the table and the cyclic stick broke off.

Should I just send it back to futaba and have them fix it, or is there anything I can do? How's futaba's service? How long will it take to get back? How much would you estimate they would charge?

Thanks,
Evan

Futaba's service is pretty good. I never had problems with them. I had a reciever antenna replaced and they did a few other things and they didn't charge me for all of it. The antenna I think was $15 so it shouldn't be too expensive if they can fix the sticks. And it will probably take about a week or two to send it to them and back.

Broken stick...

By the looks of it you might be able to order just the part that screws on at that point, as long as the threads (or whatever is there to hold the stick on) are still there. I've never had a stick break off so I'm guessing at this point. I know you can buy replacement sticks, but not seeing the whole problem it's kind of hard to tell if a replacement stick assembly would do the trick. You might just want to send it back to Futaba and have them do it. It shouldn't cost to much as long as the gimble part and shaft isn't broken also.

No, the actual shaft part is broken, check out the picture. The gimbal seems fine though.

Picture...

is kind of blurry and I can't see the shaft end well, but if you say it's bad then maybe you should just send it in.

not sure you can change one part w/o changing the whole gimbal.

as i recall, the entire gimbal assy is only $35 + install cost
