I know I should be asking this in the radio section, but I have asked questions in a specific section before, and was days before I got a reply, and it wasn't very helpful, so anyway............

I have always thought I was pretty knowledgeable about my radios functions, but this one has left me puzzled.

I have a Futaba 9C, BTW.

I was re-setting up everything on my gasser, ( after a crash), when I noticed that I have no access to the idle up screen, on the pitch and throttle curve settings.

At first I thought the switch was bad, but it is not. I pulled up some other models and here is what I found after a little investigating.

Raven: everything is fine. Idle up 1 and 2 accessable.
T-rex: Only Idle up 1 is accessable.
Condor: (just got it setup last weekend, haven't even bothered with idle ups yet) No access to either.
Predator SE: No access to either.

I know everything was fine before I reset the parameters in the SE( the model I found the problem), but now, no joy.

I have NEVER had this problem before. I even help newbies set up their stuff at our club with their 9C's, and I have never NOT been able to access these screens.

Am I ignorant, and have forgotten that you have to activate idle up, or is there a problem with my radio? I went through the manual and it didn't shed any light on this.

Again, the switch works fine, its just when I try to dial from normal to idle up 1 and 2 in the pitch and throttle curves I am having the trouble.

And yes, I am in advanced mode when I try this.

Thanks,

Scott

Dam I was thinking you wern't in advanced mode, is Idle mode active, make sure it doesnt say INH, in advanced mode, highlight normal then turn the dial until it says idle1, I think thats how you get there without looking at my radio.

Well, atleast I know its not me.

Went to the field today, and while I tuning the recently rebuilt machine, when I was setting the throttle curves, VIOLA! It works now.

Sure as crap wasn't working ,last night.

It is a computer, and they have their moments. One thing I did not try was shutting it down, and then restarting.

This just gives me an excuse to get a new radio.

I have the CAP, gave up planks a couple of years ago, been wanting the new Super CHP.

Sounds like a good reason....right?

Thanks anyway,

Idle-ups are activiated by going into the the advanced mode. then go to the THROTTLE CURVE and scroll to the top and go at NORM and scroll to IDLE1 and turn the mix on. It is hidden in Throttle curve not Pitch curve.

I know that I've "seemed" to run into this as well. Can't access any of the curves at all. I have no idea how I've resolved it other than starting to do a number of things. I've found myself in the wrong screen (can only change "N"ormal" mode), I've had stuff INH when it shouldn't be etc.

If all else fails I'd reboot . Well, remove the card and remove the power, turn it on and off, restore the card and power and try for there.

Gavan, as mentioned in first post, I was indeed in advanced mode.

Thanks BC Don, I thought I had flipped. I have found things changed that shouldn't have been on number of occasions.

Once one of my machines developed a tail problem, just out of no where. Could not get the tail to hold to save my life. I had thought my 401 had gave up on me, so I took one off another bird, same thing.

It was only when I checked all the settings in my radio that I found the REVO/MIX was activated. Thats one of the first things I turn off when setting up a new heli. I had no good explanation why it had been changed. I haven't used REVO/MIX since I used piezos.

Thanks again.

Yup, know what you mean with Revo mix. For some reason it defaults to on (can't remember whether that was on the 9C or 7C). But I got caught a few times trying to figure out what the heck was going on.
