Well my T-Rex came in today, that’s the good news but the bad news is that it is a Christmas present so the waiting continues. I pulled out the manual to read and blades to balance. Can’t wait.

I have not bought my motor or ESC yet but I was thinking of the Align 430L motor and Align 35 amp ESC (BL35G). ReadyHeli has those as a combo for $98. Any thoughts on that setup?

I am new to the electric side of heli’s, and I have a couple of questions as to the proper setup. I take it you power the radio from the Lipo rather than use an Rx battery? What about the voltage, I thought 6v was the max for the Rx side or am I missing something I need? Does the ESC reduce the voltage to the receiver? Secondly are you leaving off your Rx switch (something else to fail) and just having everything come on when the Lipo is connected?

I am using the 146iP receiver and I just was to verify that I can use a Deans Micro Antenna with that? I thought I had read somewhere that the 146 is a shorter range receiver and I am concerned if it is reduced even more by the micro antenna. Where is a good place to mount the Deans?

You are correct, no Rx battery. Our ESC's have a BEC(Battery Eliminator Circuit) which supplies the proper voltage to the Rx and servos. You don't want a switch either, like you said, just another thing to fail.
