Since I was forced to relocate after Hurricane Katrina devistated my hometown of New Orleans, I haven't flown in over 3 months. My Raptor 50 was totaled and I am having secong thoughts on trying to rebuild it. All the screws and linkages are severely rusted. Every single bearing is locked up. And the engine and electronics are fried. The only good parts are the plastic frames, skids, etc. and the carbon mains and tail blades. It may be easier for me to just start over on the R50 and use whatever parts I can salvage off the old one as parts.

I was able to save my Raptor 90, but I rebuilt the YS 91 the day before we left and rushed the engine rebuild. In the process I broke the piston ring and damaged the sleeve and piston as well as I tried to rush the rebuild pending the oncoming threat. I have tried to locate the necessary parts for a couple of months, but everyone seems to be out of stock. Now with the holidays upon us, money is very tight for my family. Would anyone out there have the parts that I need to fix my YS 91? I need a piston, piston ring, and sleeve, as well as a new gasket for the back plate.

If anyone could help, I would be truly grateful. I usually don't like asking for stuff on here, but I am at a lost as to getting the R90 back up. Thanks for your consideration.

If this is the case then fixing the YS .91 would be the last thing on my list. But that is just me.

Flame-suit on.

And fixing the YS hasn't been a priority or I would have been flying it already. But this hobby was one way for me to relax and enjoy myself. Now that things are slowing down for me and I am slowly getting back on my feet, I want to enjoy the hobby once again.

Where am I going wrong here? I haven't tried fixing either heli for over 3 months. What is wrong with me wanting to be able to enjy this hobby again? I have had to deal with some major stress lately and I feel I am entitled to some relaxation time...........

Dude man. Where you been? Haven't heard from ya in a long time. You just gotta see a heli fly again and you will be hooked. I got 2 more ppl interested in helis now. Shoooo I been flying alot over here now since after the storm. I fly right before work and after work. Night flying is pretty fun with the micro helis too. Best of luck on finding the ys engine parts.

Hey Tony,

Been kinda busy. Just got a new job with Houston Police Dept. a few weeks ago. I am working in one of the jails until an academy class opens.

Now that I am slowly getting back on my feet, I want to start flying again. But locating the necessary parts to fix my YS 91 is proving to be very difficult. I hope to find them soon.

Talk to you later.
