It depends on the blades that you are going to use. I'm a newbie so FWIW...Using V-Blades I use 690's and they can bog a bit with me flying! I just put on a set of Radix 710's. They have a different airfoil and even being a bit longer do not tend to bog my machine. I have read that V-Blades have a new version out too. Lots of choices depending on your flying style.

I've been flying the tt 710's but i'm going to try a set of mah 690's that i have laying around. I have a revmax so i don't think overspeeding will be a problem.
anyone have experience with 690's?

Just to be awkward I'm using the NHP Razor cam 700mm blades, they work very well on the R90se.

Hopefully I will manage to try out a set of 710mm Radix blades tomorrow

Ryan.

I am currently flying 2 R90 machines, one with TT680's and the other with V-Blades's 690's. With 680's or 690's, it is ALOT harder to bog the head down like with 710's. Even with poor collective managment and hard stick banging, I can't seem to bog it down (very badly) even with +/- 10 degrees pitch. I have also heard that several of the "big names" are flying 680's for this very reason.

If one is just doing mild 3D stuff, FFF and alot of autos, then the 710's might be better, but I feel the 680 will do better when you really are ringing it out hard.

I'm using 710 MAH blades on my 90se. They're working great for me...Y.S 91 w/8.45 gear ratio. 105mm tail blades

Yes, I've flown that combination for a while... but 690 V-blades are better if you're into hard 3D. less bogging.

The V-paddles come in different lenghts, the longer = the more effective.

The V80 paddles are 80mm long and have 3mm threads (for 30/50size helicopters)

The paddles used on 90 ships are usually the 90mm or 95mm, they are made for 4mm threads.

At the moment I use V690 flash blades & 95mm paddles on my R90 and I like it.

Cheers,

Richard

Just a note:

I also tried the MAH 690 blades (G1 & G2) but I didn't like them at all!!
Autorotations weren't that good & I missed a lot of lift. They also made a lot of blade noise... very scary.

I tried TT680 blades, they seemed unboggable, but lacked a bit in the lift & autorotation departement. But still better then the MAH690's

I tried the TT710, and I liked them... but bogged a bit easier, not that bad though. Cyclics slowed down a bit, autorotations where OK.

I tried the V710 (V2) and I liked them, but it seemed very easy to bog the head down. Autorotations were UNBELIEVABLE!!
My dad is still flying these blades, he likes smooth aerobatics and they work VERY well for him!!

I like the V690 blades best, good aurotations and lift. Almost like the best of both TT680 blades and TT710's.

I haven't had a chance to test the new V690 blades though, the ones I'm using are the older V2 flash blades, without the taper.

Cheers,

Richard

PS.
I've tried these combinations on my R90's. 1 powered by OS91C-spec PS and 1 powered by YS91ST4.

That's perfect, but run 105mm tails. I use the 105mm V-tailblades.

I run the same setup on my R90 with YS91/MP2.

I've used NHP105mm tailblades before and they were fine too, I like the V's a bit better though. Nicer finish and just as tough or maybe even a bit stronger

Cheers,

Richard
