Yes people can do autos with the T-Rex's. The one guy that does them alot at my local flying feild uses SAB 335's with the Zooms 400 paddles with the flybar weights. We are not talking about Inveted autos just normal ones. Also one guy on runryder has a video on his gallery where he just does a bunch of autos with his T-rex.

Saw one of the better pilots at our field auto his trex 4 times the other day from about 100 feet. Very critical and no room for error but sure was neat. He is running the new pro woodies.

That was me

The background is that I love autos and do a lot of them, with a Raptor 50 I can get get them *exactly* where I want them 100% of the time - not being a smartass, its just practice and I do 100's of autos. If you want to auto a Rex, use the SAB blades it makes it twice as easy - as Rotary stated, those were the stock Align 335 wood blades in that video and these are a lot harder to auto as they are light. With the SABs I can do it everytime but with the 335s, its always marginal towards the end.

how much do the flybar weights help the t-rex autos ?

I have one little wheel collar installed all the time but no reason I couldn't string them along the flybar like pearls on a string.

A buddy auto'd mine 3 times with a modified main gear (non driven tail) and SAB blades. I think it had a teeny tiny bit more 'hang time' than the above videos but it still wasn't enough to make me want to try it with my very limited auto'ing ability.

I was even considering making some blades with heavy tips but extra weights on the flybar would be a LOT easier if it would work. Who wants to go first.

Even with blades that had heavier tips or more flybar weights the T-Rex is not going to be an outstanding auto machine.
